I really loved the atmosphere in this hotel. It was opened in 1929 and has a lot of character. The location is fantastic for exploring the nearby hiking trails. My kids loved sleeping upstairs in the room under the sky light. We would definitely stay again if returning to the troodos region.

The place is like a forest resort escape, we stayed for one night, the beds are comfortable and the location is very quiet. The weather was cold and rainy but the two floors were nice and warm. Not much to do, just relax and enjoy nature. We didnt take breakfast, but there is a full functioning kitchen that you can use. If you're staying longer, you might want to equip yourself for some grocery, the closest (good) supermarket is AlphaMega is 10Km away. We stayed in early April, there is very little activity to do in the village, it sleeps early, which was not a problem for us.

The hotel is rated 4 star and I would say it is getting the 4 star on facilities . It is very tired and in need of serious maintenance and upliftment . Platres is a lovely moiuntain village with a good mix of restaurants, bars and relaxtion points, Great for starting mountain walks or just kicking back in the village, We would also highly recommend the chocolate workshop experience at Cyprus Chocolates. Educational and informative with a passionate host in Eugene. You get to try all different kinds of chocolates and there's no obligation to buy. Beautiful mountains with lots of walking trails and waterfalls. Good roads. Lots of restaurants, coffee shops, traditional souvenirs shops, chocolate fabric workshop, fresh air, springs with fantastic potable water. Very green and has very good energy.

But the location is ideal if you want quiet seclusion and the facilities are better than we anticipated. There's place for football and basketball and a barbecue area. Hikers can enjoy easy access to nearby mountain trails. The little village of Platres is only 5 minutes' drive away, offering a nice selection of cafes and restaurants.

As we arrived we saw Russian flag outside the hotel together with Cyprus and EU flags. We didnt like the fact that anyone support russia these days ( specially when my wife is Ukrainian). We complained and wanted to leave but the manager of the hotel came to us and apologise and imediately sent someone to take the flag down. We really apreciated this. Thx. 🙏 for the sensitivity.

Semiramis lodge is a boutique hotel under a new, very friendly, management. The dinner, cooked by the chef/manager was very good. The place is very quiet and ideal for couples or single travelers. We loved sitting in the yard and having our meal or coffee/sweet.
