Hotel Altes Brauhaus (Old Brewery) with its relaxed and informal atmosphere is quietly and yet centrally located within the protective old city walls, surrounded by the gardens of the Old Town and romantic timber-frame houses. In only 3 minutes walk you can reach the historic market place. A short walk will also lead to cultural sights and monuments from the Middle Ages, as well as scenic forests, lush grasslands and hills of the Tauber Valley.

Our hotel presents itself in a modern and open-minded ambience, yet keeping its significant historical character and charm. The attentive and personal service provided by the owner`s family ensures a comfortable stay in cosy atmosphere.

Food & beverage

On sunny days the cosy beer garden invites to relax.

We cater for groups, seminars or events of any kind, serving, on request, a variety of menus and buffets made of typical Frankish and international dishes.

Area information

Rothenburg is considered the lively monument of Medieval Architecture and Way of Life. Discover romanticism, a rich cultural diversity and world-famous sights in the vicinity. Step back into past times and find out about the history of noblemen or visit interesting museums such as the crime museum, doll museum, "Reichsstadtmuseum" (Imperial city museum) or christmas museum.
The world-famous "Christkindlmarkt" (christmas market) on the premises of "Kathe Wohlfahrt" is open all year-round and ideal for shopping.
Accompany Rothenburg's night-watchman daily from April to December on his way through the city. The English-guided tour starts at 08.00 pm, the German tour starts at 09.30 pm.

Day trips will lead to small wine towns, historic cities, castles and forts.

Some sights that are well worth seeing:
Weikersheim Castle, Ansbach (City of Franconian Rococo), Zoo in Bad Mergentheim, Bavarian Falconry "Schillingsfurst", Wurzburg, Langenburg Castle, Dinkelsbuhl, Bad Windsheim (Franconian Open-air museum) Golf courses in Bad Windsheim and Colmberg.

All year-round, numerous cultural and musical events, plays and wine festivals take place in the surroundings. Mountainbiking and walking is possible on several hiking and biking trails, for example in vineyards and nature park "Frankenhohe". The Franconian Lakes offer natural beaches and sailing possibilities.

A very comfortable enviroment and the food was good. The staff was very friendly.

They only had single beds available to us and they were too firm, uncomfortable.

I liked the convenience of the location - close to the train station and to the city center. Hotel staff was friendly enough. Breakfast room was beautiful.

This was not a 4 star hotel! Should be a 3 since there weren't a lot of "facilities" there. No restaurant, there wasn't any mini fridge in the hotel room, the quad room was tight, the bathroom grouting had mold in it, the advertised American breakfast wasn't American at all, there weren't tissues in the bathroom nor toiletries,

We loved everything about our stay at the Altes Brauhaus. This place is a world-class hotel at a fantastic price. It is spotlessly clean with a helpful and pleasant, polite staff. The breakfast was outstanding. Highly recommended. Great location.

Everything! This place is awesome and had a very nice included breakfast. Staff is friendly and helpful. The quad room was very large and the bathroom was large and clean. Great place, I could stay here a month and not miss home!

The breakfast was great!

I forgot to ask the receptionist if she took VAT forms, until after she rang the sale. But she stated that since it was already rang, it was done. I was surprised that she didn't offer to void the sale, then re-ring without the VAT.
