Bad Reichenhall is a hidden gem near the Austrian border .
Bad Reichenhall is a hidden gem near the Austrian border . Big & small enough to walk , nice centre with shops , restaurants and very old brevery , old town , old salt mine + the Rupertus Therme to relax your body after long day . Town surrounded by the beautifull mountains , fill like being in spa resort ( fresh clean air ) . Just few cliks from there : Koenig Lake, Eagle Nest , Panorama road (you drive a car at 1500m over the sea level to admire landscapes- in my case it was fail due to low level of clouds so I saw nothing ,he,he ) , 40min of train and you are in Saltzburg .
Can't be bored out there .

Beautiful town in the heart of Bavaria and the Alpine Strasse. Central for Salzburg and the Eagle's Nest. Lots of interesting shops, restaurants and cafes and churches. There is a station with direct trains to Salzburg and lots of buses. If you stay in a hotel or apartment, you will get a guest card for free. This gives free journeys on all public transport and discount on a number of activities.

I had my meals mainly at two excellent restaurants in Bad Reichenhall: Schwabenbräu and Alle Stazione. I went to the Nationalpark Berchtesgaden (a 20-minute drive from Bad Reichenhall), where there is a nice view of a lake surrounded by the Alpen's mountains and a boat trip around the lake. The view was breathtaking. Unfortunately, the restaurants there were closed.

Bad Reichenhall has a wonderful atmosphere.
Bad Reichenhall has a wonderful atmosphere.
We love especially the parks!
Kurpark is even a smoke-free zone, which his great. So you can inhale the salty air while walking around the Gradier-House and really feel the salt in the air.
I have regularly issues with breathing, and this air is such an amazing experience! Just fantastic

Perfect location in the historic spa district of Bad Reichenhall. Easy walking distance to the beautiful park areas, the downtown pedestrian mall area and many great restaurants. We stayed one week and did not have a car. We always used the excellent public transportation system instead.
Our hosts were very friendly and always tried to be helpful. We booked a spotless vacation apartment instead of a hotel room and prepared most of our meals ourselves. A nearby grocery store sold everything we needed.
Older hotel that is very well maintained everything works as it should which one cannot say for some more expensive modern hotels. All areas including the rooms and public areas are very clean and the cleaning staff go out of their way to keep it that way. The staff in all departments are all extremely friendly, helpful and well skilled at their jobs. The buffet breakfast was very good with a large choice including American style pancakes with maple syrup.
This was in a quiet neighborhood with amazing views of the mountains, 20 minute walk to a nice beer garden for dinner. My room was very comfortable and on the landing outside of it was a nice display of crystal.
I also want to say that Pension Lex has the best breakfast of any small hotel that I have ever stayed with a large fresh fruit selection as well as other foods. I also truly appreciated that they had an “honor” fridge for drinks.
Very nice family hotel in walking distance from Bad Reichenhall and Rupertus Therme. Perfect service and very friendly and helpful staff. Nice and clean rooms (we chose a room with a stunning view on the mountains). The location is very quiet, which we appreciated at nights. On nice days breakfast is served outside in the beautiful lovely garden with a pond. We have all reasons to come back soon :-)
very nice location. First night we checked in late and were supposed to have a spot reserved but even with it being full the directions to park on street were clear and we left before 9 am so didn’t worry about getting a ticket. the view out the window was amazing with the mountains and the hotel was very clean. Breakfast was well worth the price too, was able to eat a lot of great food.
Beautiful hotel with nice staff. Really enjoyed the fantastic breakfast it was very special. They even let my friends come and pay separately for their breakfasts even though they weren’t staying at the hotel.
The beds were comfortable their room was quite clean and had nice amenities. Highly recommended.
Staff wonderful, so friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet very good, nice selection of everything. Location very very quiet, just a short walk though from center. The only "negative" thing, rooms and especially bathrooms very small due to conversion of old villa into hotel which is very common in Europe.
Great conditions, room was clean and very comfortable, staff was amazing, they went over and beyond to help make my stay enjoyable, I'm very impressed with their hospitality and kindness.
The location was also great, very close to the center of the Bad Reichenhall.
I would definitely recommend!
Great hotel with spacious rooms and lots of storage! The restaurant had terrific food and the hotel is in a great location to walk to other restaurants and shops. You can even walk to the Predigtstuhlbahn, a cable car that takes you to the top of Predigtstuhl.
The scenery from this apartment is unparalleled in beauty! The apartments is clean, comfortable, the neighbors friendly, and it was an extraordinary stay. The entire town of Bad Reichenhall is very, very nice. And the cost was extremely reasonable!
We spent 6 days in Bad reichenhall and enjoyed everyday. Whether it was shopping in town, eating at the pubs, going to the salt mines and spa pools or just lazing around and enjoying the majestic scenery. Everything was perfect.
Friendly staff. Location is perfect - between the spa complex and the park area, very close to the city center. Swimming pool is very clean and well maintained. Breakfast is superb! And so is the Sky bar!
An excellent hotel and great location. Friendly staff. A good sized room. Parking great. Bus stop just around the corner. We liked sitting on the balcony when we got back to the hotel in the evening
The best aspects of the Galerie Hotel were its serene location in Bad Reichenhall, offering a peaceful escape, and the friendly, multilingual staff who made the stay exceptionally welcoming.
