Dachau is too small to stay in for the night or nights ...
Tour of the prisoner camp was usefull ... Tour guides are distorting the facts making Germany alot worse .. it was a prisoner camp .... during wars ... facts no more or less.
Touring children or students is not a good idea ... it is a horrible idea to be introduced to violance at that age ... ...
The castle was a great spot ... the old town ... need better infrastructure ...
Food was merely to meet the hunger ... busses are available ... routes are confusing in such a small place .
One time visit is more than enough.

Dachau is the place where the very first Nazi Concentration Camp has been built. It was an example camp for all other concentration camps within Nazi-Germany. I think every person should once visit Dachau or a different concentration camp city to understand in what luxury we live today and how cruel humans can be during times of war. And of course also to pay respect to all the victims from the Nazi era.
What I also liked was the public transportation within Dachau. It is simple to get around. Especially the proximity to Munich is great.

Dachau is a historical town on the suburbs of Munich and is easily reached by public transport.
Like virtually every German town it is clean and safe.
I would recommend a visit to the Altstadt and the memorial to those who lost their lives in the concentration camp.

Unfortunately the owners of the restaurant in the front of...
Unfortunately the owners of the restaurant in the front of the same building as the pension do not like the owners of the pension. So we got an earful twice by them because we were asking them questions.
Olympia owners were not on site and left no specific guidelines for us/the guests. It was dark when we arrived and there was no sign outside to tell us where the pension was. So we asked the restaurant owners. They are sick of all the questions from people about the pension since they are not the owners of the pension.
We finally saw that there was an 8 x 10 piece of paper on a door at the back of the building identifying it as Olympia.
So we went up the steps and saw that there were numbers on doors and keys hanging in the doors, but we had no clue which one was ours. And, calling out for someone got no response.
So, we started opening doors & found one that fit what we requested, so started to settle in. About 20 to 30 minutes later someone knocked on our door who could barely speak English and had no clue why we were there. She never identified herself but appeared to possibly be a cleaning lady. She got a man to help with English, which was only some better. They placed a phone call to the owners, whom we had tried to call three times - from the number in our confirmation email. We found out that the number was for the restaurant, & they just said “wrong number”.
The phone resulted in us being told we were in the wrong room & they moved us. It was frustrating and unnecessary for two travelers who were already very weary from a long, long trip.
We did get food at the Hot Spot restaurant at the front of the building, and it was very good. The people were kind to us but very vocal and unhappy about the owners of the pension.
The bus line was close and worked for us. We were only in Dachau to spend the night and keep moving.

We stopped in Dachau then on to Austria to meet up with family, but tried to stay longer but they were booked and no wonder, wonderful place to stay - so accomodating - loved the people - so helpful in every way - loved the train but if you never traveled in Germany - people offer their help - you may need it
Only stayed one night on our travels through Europe. Was dubious due to reviews however found the entire stay great.
Reception was very welcoming. Parking underground available, ample spaces, €10 per night.
Rooms were HUGE, very clean and comfortable bed!
Could benefit from tea/kettle facilities in room and fridge but otherwise great.
Really big hotel, felt a bit like warehouse but overall great.
The apartment is conveniently located in the outskirts of Munich. We had a car, and there was free and ample parking. The staff is friendly and accommodating. We were traveling with a baby so they arranged a baby cot/travel bed. Hotel is quite modern and well equipped. Breakfast had a nice selection of items, even for vegetarians. Beds are also very comfortable.
Really creaky floorboards in the room and very low bed…..as 70 yr olds, difficult to get out. Very helpful staff…… found ordering breakfast the night before a little strange. Meal good, though lucky to chose it as no English translation…….why should there be! We are in Germany! Great spot, lovely town and snow was a bonus to add to atmosphere.
Very easy and helpful check-in process , the reception was very welcoming.
The service and food in the Greek restaurant was fantastic, I will recommend both the hotel and restaurant.
This is the 2nd Abasto Hotel that I have stayed in and it is a hotel chain that I would recommend and also use again myself.
An excellent location, modern amenities and look, excellent staff. I had to check in at 10.30 p.m., whereas, the reception closes at 10.00 p.m. A phone call, and staff was waiting for me. Next day, I asked for a late check out & they happily agreed.
Shall stay in future visits to Munich for sure
Excellent in-town property. A short walk/taxi ride to the hotel from the train station. Super nice staff and a very yummy breakfast. Our room would be perfect for a small family with a small separate twin bedroom and a crib included. The bathroom had a large tiled shower.
wonderful location with walking distance around the town. Only 10 minutes to Dachau Concentration Camp. The staff was wonderful, friendly, and accommodating for any needs. The room was very large and clean and quiet for being on a main road. Highly recommend this hotel !!
Hotel has been refreshed since I last stayed here and is much better for it
Staff were friendly, breakfast was varied and fresh
only hotel in Dachau with a restaurant, not that I used it this trip
It was a wonderful stay. Friendly staff, comfortable beds, and tasty breakfast. 3 mins from the concentration camp. Also a large shopping area, with all the stores you need.
Handy location for the trains to Munich and the bus to the ‘camp’. Supermarket and great bakery nearby. Short walk to the old town. The apartment was very spacious.
The location was great as it was very close to a supermarket. It was also a very short drive to Dachau Concentration Camp which was the purpose of our trip there.
