Es un hotel para pasar la noche no para disfrutar.
The fortressed town of Cuenca is a hidden gem in the province of Castilla La Mancha and is a popular destination for tourists visiting Madrid or Valencia.
Cuenca is best represented in its medieval old town as well as the unique Hanging Houses (Las Casas Colgadas) which stand aloft on one of the deep canyons surrounding the city, and show a prime example of the common housing of 15th-century Cuenca.
Upon visiting the Old Town you will be welcomed by the remains of an ancient Arab fortress, El Castillo along with the chiming bells of Mangana Tower.
There is a variety of art galleries and restaurants which are situated in the newer side of town, whilst popular places to see are the Cuenca Cathedral, Museum of Spanish Abstract Art and the Archaeological Museum.
Booking.com offers a wide range of accommodation options near landmarks such as Cuenca train station and Parque de San Julián.

I like to see old historic cities ...even if the "glory days" are over. Cuenca does not disappoint on this count. The cathedral is a magnificent example of this as it is beautifully decorated in parts and equally shows evidence of being somewhat dilapidated structurally..in certain parts.
The "hanging house' theme is a little overworked but it is still very interesting to see what is left of them.
It's sheer geographical location is what surprised me most. The public transport system up and down between the new and old town is very efficient.
I stayed 2 nights...I could easily have stayed 3 to have 2 full days to explore a little more...assuming you can manage the walking...it is rarely flat...you are either climbing or descending usually and it's often quite steep!
I ate at the Piola Gastrobar, which shares the building with the Hotel Convento just up from the main Plaza Mayor. An excellent restaurant in my opinion.

Absolutely wonderful.
Absolutely wonderful. Breakfast was excellent.Dining room was nice, but why would anyone eat there when they will serve you in the beautiful courtyard by the fountain! Pool area is nice, and staffed with a lifeguard. Helpful hint: request a room with a bridge view. We did, and it was gorgeous.

Cuenca is a historical gem tucked away a little bit in the middle of nowhere which makes it an oasis of peace. If you wish to escape for awhile from the hustle of modern life Cuenca is the right place to visit. Lots of history next to beautiful nature. Delicious food and friendly Spanish people.

We were at the end of our trip and didn't get to stay as long in Cuenca as we would have liked. Since we live less than 2 hours away we plan to return to spend more time there. We didn't get to go to the museum behind the hanging houses (Casas Colgadas de Cuenca).

lovely place for a visit!....old town and cathedral all up hill with lots of steps....but tourist office does offer trips to the top!....great for food and lots of drinking bars....plenty of good places to walk and exsperience local culture ....views for pictures are stunning!....
Great location - so close to bus/train station - didn't have to drag our bags up hill to the old town. Easy scenic walk up. Great receptionist - we were able to have our room early and she furnished us with a map and gave us a map and directions to the best way the walk up, what to see and even recommendations for where to eat afterward- most appreciated!
Comfy big bed, lovely big clean bathroom and very quiet. And cheap simple brekkie available if you need. Couldn't have asked for more!
Free street parking right out the front. The hotel was very clean, tidy, and nicely decorated. The host, Flora, was the most helpful and friendly host I've ever met. She downloaded a translation app so she could communicate with us and not only provided us with local attraction tips but also suggested tourist attractions on the way from Cuenca to Madrid. A great value stay in a beautiful, not to be missed, town.
Clean, spacious room. Views are probably great from up there but we had a room with no views so I can't say. Breakfast was great, with lots of options for all tastes and they accommodate food allergies too. There's a bar and a restaurant in the hotel (the restaurant is one of the best rated in Cuenca). Perfectly working double heating (central and electric) for these cold days. Staff were very kind and helpful.
A beautiful hotel. So much history from its beginning as a monastery in the 16th century. The room we had was very clean and spacious. No complaints.
We had dinner in the restaurant on our second night, delicious. If you travel to Cuenca I highly recommend this Hotel but be prepared to walk up part of the hill to reach the ancient town. There are buses available and taxis.
The hotel was literally one minute away from the Plaza Mayor- the last stop of the bus from the train station "Estación de Cuenca-Fernando Zóbel". You can easily explore all the sights in the old part of the city from here.
The staff was very friendly- supplied us with a map and detailed information about all sights and the best spots to view them.
Location is amazing, the best to explore the town but also amazing surrounding nature, close to many restaurants and yet quiet and boutique feeling. We got a room with stunning view. Room are comfortable, clean, not the biggest but absolutely sufficient. Restaurant attached to the hotel is top class.
Very comfortable apartment with everything you need. They even had some breakfast foods and snacks, milk and orange juice. Very thoughtful. We got a great restaurant recommendation, but beware Americans, most places don't start serving dinner until 9 PM. Great stay and loved Cuenca!
Very good location to get to know the old and new town. Park your car and travel with the local buses, cheap and very convenient and parking is difficult in Cuenca. Old town is a short walk away. Apartment was well equipped and cute in it's layout. Ideal for a short to middle stay.
Great apartment with a million-dollar view, right in the historic center of Cuenca. Easy key pickup from a hotel nearby. Great views from the bedroom as well as from the private rooftop. Great bathroom, lots of exposed wood and traditional charm in the bedroom. Good wifi.
Great location next door to the Cathedral. My request for a bedroom on a higher floor and with a balcony was actioned. We had great views over the valley. The restaurant/bar attached to the hotel was very good.
What a cute place! Everything was comfortable and cozy. The kitchen was well equipped, the bathroom was great and the sitting area even had a fireplace. If I am ever back in Cuenca, this is where I am staying.
Lovely quiet, tranquil hotel, with communal leisure and catering facilities. Very homely. Good location and excellent value. We only had one night, but it would be a good place for a longer stay.
The breakfast was very good, the room was spacious and comfortable and the receptionist was very friendly and professional. We took a taxi to the centre of Cuenca and it was very cheap.
Location is great, the hotel is a good value, the bed is comfortable. The storage room was a plus. The lighting is good, and the bathroom is big. The staff was polite, and efficient.
