The Hotel Barcelona Catedral is set in the city centre, just a short walk away from the world-famous La Rambla and the city’s main square of Plaça Catalunya. It is surrounded by the atmospheric, narrow streets and smart shops which make up the Gothic District. On Wednesday nights and Sundays the hotel offers its guests a free guided walk around the sights of this historic area of central Barcelona.

After a day visiting the sights you can relax with a dip in the rooftop swim pool or enjoy the sun from the terrace. You can also enjoy a meal from the hotel’s Mediterranean restaurant out on this terrace, or a drink from the bar. Those looking to stay in shape can head to the hotel’s fitness room.

The hotel is right in the centre of the Gothic Quater and is close to Las Ramblas too. The rooms were very clean, tidy and modern and weren't too noisy at nights, even at the weekends! I would definately stay here again and recommend it to others.

Take your own tea, coffee, spoon, sugar, milk etc as the hotel charge 1.5euros for one tea bag. There is a kettle though. We bought fresh milk from the supermarket. The only english channel is Sky News.We also did not eat breakfast at the hotel as it was 18 euros each for breakfast. We ate at a little cafe round the corner for 14 euros between us!

Best location in town

The traffic noise was to be expected, but the shower/toilet water noise from next room sounded like it was our own. I felt like getting up to make sure a stranger wasn't using our shower.
