Nice and the surrounding area is fantastic, we have been going twice a year since 1996 - excellent public transport, buses and trains frequent and easy to use, as well as Uber and Bolt (very reasonable prices on both).
Do NOT just stay in Nice - visit Villefranche St Jean on Cap Ferrat, Eze, Monaco, Menton, Antibes, Cannes etc...they are all easy to get to.
Nice airport can be a bit of a poor experience if you are travelling later in the evening - all the food outlets seem to shut at 10pm.

Excellent place to stay when planning to discover French riviera. Grest public transportstion, expecially trams. Many things to do and to see. Perfect destination for travelling with children as well. Cheap train tickets for day trips to Monaco, Cannes etc. Very veautiful beach area, old town, hill with waterfall. Highly recommended to visit for relaxing holiday. It will be grest any season and any lenght. We have been last week in march - the weather was excellent, +22C, sunny. Honestly our 4 nights stay was really too short and I am planning already next trip.

The whole place was very clean and you could walk around at any time feeling safe. Food and drinks were well priced if you stay back from the front.
Train service was cheap and easy to use with trains always on time.
One to avoid is the new tram ticket system which was terrible we purchased a on-off ticket for a week at 50 euros but by error had entered the incorrect starting date which turned out to be the last day of our stay. We had trouble getting out of the tram station when arriving ion Nice as at that point we were unaware of the issue. Finally we got out and were directed to the main office of the sulkier which we waited 1/2 to see somebody only to be told there was nothing they could do. And to add we were not the only ones in the question with the same issue including locals. On our next visit we will avoid this and use the train system.

Beautiful beaches and city, and great proximity to the rest of the French Riviera. The bonus is the mountain towns which are a short drive and so much to explore up there as well. You can be in Italy in about an hour. Great location and spend at last a week to see it all!

Nice is ideal for a short city break of around three days as it is a relatively small city. I visited Nice in spring, and the weather was mild and sunny. Nice would appeal to those who enjoy holidays around enjoying architecture, good local cuisine, beaches and shopping.

While the architecture in Nice was imposing and elegant, the overall feel of the city was laid-back. We stayed in two very different parts of town due to an extension of our visit and both were well- served by the efficient tram. It had many good restaurants and the beachfront Boulevard des Anglais allowed anyone to move along it as it was well-paved and flat. Good Train service to other nearby tourist attractions was available (Grasse, Cannet), but schedules were sometimes complicated.
We would love to return for an entire month, but would avoid Carnevale next time as we don't like crowds. It was well managed by the city, however. I spoke French, but it seemed like an easy time town for non-French speakers to navigate. There was something there for everyone and the natives were charming.
The family room with a sea-view was a bit tired and basic, but excellent value for is size and location. Its not right on the main promonade so the sea-view is between two buildings but on thinking about it , its probably best not to be right on the main road as its a very busy and noisy road. The staff were friendly and helpful. The Wifi was good and free, both not always the case in France. There were a few local restaurants and a good patisserie around the back, and the tram line 2 Magnan stop was a two minute walk away.
Conveniently located (a 15 min walk to the sea, a busy mostly pedestrian street with many shops); very nice staff in the hotel; breakfast is probably not bad as for France as at least it has a few basic salty products besides typical French ones; very clean room properly cleaned daily (and bed sheets are replaced); free unlimited cold water on the ground floor; modern shower installation; possible to leave a luggage; possible to call an inexpensive taxi with the reception.
Lovely boutique hotel, 10 min walk to old town - shops, restaurants, market, beach etc., 2 min walk to Nice Ville Train Station. We stayed in a business room which was perfect for a couple, huge bathroom, great shower pressure. Very comfortable bed. Elevator at reception is a bonus in France! Staff were all so lovely and delivered us complimentary pastries before check out. Quiet and peaceful at night. Would stay here again.
Location is good - at a walking distance to old town and attractions. Staff is very friendly, willing to help. While, in France, is always a risk to have an old hotel with small rooms, this one was quite nice, modern, clean and the room was big enough. As an extra benefit: there is fridge in the room.
I was kind of lucky to get a parking place from Hotel at 25Euro/day - the quantity of parking places is very limited...
The location was perfect - you are in a walking distance to everything and that was definitely the best part!! The staff was very friendly and went above and beyond. The only problem is that most of the staff doesn't speak English so be prepared for that. The rooms have AC which is a big thing in France. I personally had nice views from my window. There are towels you can use to go to the beach.
Nice place to spend a night or two to discover the city. The location is perfect - 6min away from the train station, 15min away from the seaside. Lots of shopping areas, restaurants, cafes around.
The room was clean and space is ok for a building in the city center - it's France!
All necessary things were there, elevator works, Wi-Fi, etc. - no issues at all.
The hotel located in city center, very close to the Nice Ville Station and Public Transport. You can just walking to explore to the center nearby there are a lot of shopping store. If you take the tram in front of the hotel it will pass to the old town nice or to promenade des inglais. The room look the same like on the website, I got my room with balcony view.
Spacious, comfortable & clean. Large fully stocked kitchen and even had a Nespresso machine! The soft large bath towels were the best we had on our month long trip through France. Great location close to buses, trams & train station and all the Old Town attractions. We would definitely stay here again. You can’t go wrong with Chez Kari!
The hotel was very close to Nice Ville Station which was a bonus for us as we were taking the trains to get to other parts of the South of France. It's very quiet at night and the room was a lot more spacious than expected, the balcony was a plus! Very cheap compared to other boutique hotels in Nice during November.
The last day in Nice I stayed here. In fact I have booked three different hotels in Nice . Definitely Arome is the one that satisfied me best. It's quieter and more comfortable than the first one and much cheaper than the second one with very nice staffs. If I go to Nice again I will choose here without doubt .
Great location to be close to the water and old town. Francesco welcomed us warmly and that was nice. We loved being able to run down to the sea, take a swim and get back to clean up so easily. Breakfast in the morning was a good simple European fare: bread, jam, coffee and juice.
Proximity to the tram station to get to the Nice, France aeroport. The front desk staff was very helpful and courteous. The neighborhood is very eclectic and diverse. We had a very nice dinner at a close by restaurant recommended by the front desk when I asked for suggestions.
All was good. Great room, comfy beds, breakfast choice , complimentary coffee and tea during the day, very nice staff.
I wouldnt expect that much in 3 star hotel and especially in France ! So I was nicely surprised ! The location is great, close to the train/bus station.
Beautiful views in to the sea. Our suite had a nice large terasse.
Nice rooftop pool but you got to be able to get a bed. Crowded.Nice places to visit by train Juan Les Pinnes, Cannes and Monaco. Trains tickets and tram tickets are extremely cheap in France.
The hotel is new and very clean. Perfectly located near Airport. The room was bigger than expected which is a great plus. Staff is very kind and ready to help whenever you need. The price/ quality ratio is one of the best in Nice.
The property was beautiful and well located. The bus is literally infront of the residence. Clementine, the manager of the residence was super helpful and thoughtful! The perfect South of France stay for maximum experience!
Lovely hotel, nice and clean. Comfortable bed, excellent location for the beach and old town Nice. A tram stop nearby so easy access for the train station/ airport tram.
