Muroran is a small town which is a nice and cheaper place to stop over than Noboribetsu which is pricier.
It is near the sea with a view to kill! It is really a place where you can just stay to watch the sun set and enjoy the breeze
The location is a few metres from the train station - The room was comfortable (even if the hotel does look a little shabby in places) - There was use of a microwave on my floor - I like that the staff are not overly-present at reception (this gives the guest a sense of ease and comfort) - Good that rubbish bins are placed near the elevator, but maybe provide a bin specifically for 'food trays' and not just 'garbage' as it's important to separate correctly...
The hotel is an easy 10 minute walk from Higashi Muroran train station and is really close to a post office, convenience store, local banks and restaurants. The rooms are well equipped and cleaned on a daily basis. The room TV offers BBC World news and bi-lingual Japanese news. The hotel rooms are all non-smoking but there is a smoking room on the second floor. Luggage storage, laundry room, microwaves and an ice machine are available.
Room rate is cheap when compare to hotels in nearby city like noboribetsu so hotels in Muroran is great alternative. Especially Dormy inn becoz it offers both an excellent onsen and other complimentary.
I stayed here because heavy rain shut down the train line. I was pleased at how close it is to the train station. The front desk receptionist was very helpful. The breakfast buffet had a large variety.
Modern hotel. Even room is little small, but space is well planned out. Very comfortable! I like the provision of free coffee, free ramen at night, and beautiful onsen facilities with message chairs.
Very good location, right next to Higashi-Muroran station. Staff was kind, and I had everything in the room what I needed. Also, there is public bath on the 12th floor, if you want to try it.
Breakfast is in a large space on the 2nd floor. Plenty of staff and cooked to order.
Hotel has good wifi and also a hot spring bath (beware of the additional tourist tax).
View from both sides of hotel is good because the building is the highest one in the area.
Onsen on the 12th floor was nice. All the amenities needed you can find inside.
The hotel is dated, although the rooms were somehow rennovated. Bathrooms and doors can be improved. The staffs were very polite and attentive. Food can be improved.
Breakfast is good, especially the Snowy Carrot juice. The hotel offers free ice creams near onsen bath, soba at night and fermented drinks in the morning.
