The location at the ocean side, with stunning views from Atami hills, the little fishing port and its numerous eateries with freshest possible ingredients, busy shopping avenue at the train station, historic Kiunkaku Villa and garden, serving as the town's cultural centre, where I spent hours strolling and talking to various artists and artisans exhibiting their work, charming ladies at the villa's cafe, and the gem - MOA museum, what a great find! All this makes me long to come to Atami yet again during my next trip to Japan :-)

I didn't technically stayed in Atami city center, but a small town called Ajiro which is only two stations away from Atami, and our ryokan is 4 minutes walk from the station. It's a serene place with perfect combination of sea view and hot spring. The town is small, but it has quite some awesome restaurants ran by local people. I would recommend Satsuki Sushi and Shogyo Seafood Restaurant, premium quality food with very affordable price.
Ajiro is definitely an underrated town. Since the town center is both close to the JR train station and the seaside, it's a good place to stay and easy to travel between the izu towns by JR.

The hotel is beautiful.
The hotel is beautiful. Room is spacious and has amazing views. Hotel staff are attentive and helpful. Onsen was old but facilities are working fine. Location is near Atami attractions.
I wasn't aware that I have to make reservation for dinner even though the booking made was half board. Upon check in, I was told that I will only have Western dinner for my whole stay. I knew the hotel has a French restaurant but I didn't know that I have to state my choice of dinner in advance. Western dinner was ok, service at the French restaurant was excellent but the food quantity is too little (even for a small eater). On the second day, I requested for Japanese dinner but was told that Japanese restaurant was fully booked. After speaking with 6 different staff, the Japanese restaurant agreed to accommodate 2 more diners for one night but we had to eat our dinner at 5pm. My advice - please make reservation for dinner in advance. They have French and Japanese food to choose from.

Enjoyed the natural hot springs inside the facility.
Enjoyed the natural hot springs inside the facility. The beach had hot springs too warming the water, attracting lots of colorful fish.
The breakfast was fun, traditional. And the owners spoke good English too.
The view from roof terrace and balcony was beautiful, of the castle and city lights.
The path to find the guesthouse is marked, and once found easy and close to train station and restaurants.
Everything! The room was clean and comfortable; the whole hotel has had a recent refurbishment but still managed to retain the traditional feel of a ryokan. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the local area. The location is perfect - only a short walk from station and close to the beach and Atami Ginza. Will definitely stay again next time we visit Atami!
The host was absolutely incredible! She was so kind and had a private onsen ready for us upon our arrival! The room was spacious and overlooked atami, it was so beautiful! The bathroom was clean and tidy, and we met some lovely people in the reception and living space! We were only there for one night, but wish we had stayed more! Already planning a time to come back🌸
The hotel is 14mins drive away from the Atami City. It was located in the middle of the mountains and i guess that's perfect! I love their public outdoor onsen with nature views. They have private onsen as well that you can rent.it's so relaxing and refreshing. The room was clean and big. The bed was comfortable. The staff's were very friendly and accommodating.
The staff was super helpful and friendly. The exterior of the building was preserved in a traditional style but the interior has been renovated and was bright and new. The room was also very spacious and clean.
The food was better than what i expected from the traditional japanese food. And they even have compliment non-alcohol drinks provided.
This place is amazing and beautiful. It is maintained very maticuously. The style is tradition Japanese and it is simply beautuful. We had an issue with the hot water that was resolved immediately and the staff was very helpful and responsive to tgat one issue. The private bath was also amazing.
The room overlooked the ocean. It was a traditional tatami room, very simple and spacious.
Nice and clean, very quiet as it was off the main street. Very close to cafes and the train station.
I went there specifically for the onsite hot spring bath and home-like stay, rather than a hotel.
- Nice location in the center of Atami, can reach anywhere by bus, not so far from see, a lot of restaurants around.
- Nice and tasty breakfast.
- Onsen and two open-air onsens.
- Many kinds of utilities (but some of them require in-advance booking).
- Very kind and responsive personnel.
Atami is awesome all-around. Western beds are so much more comfortable than Futons, but you still get the Ryokan experience here. Staff was exceptionally awesome as expected of Japanese service providers.
Hotel was very gorgeous. Welcoming service was so heartwarming and Room was comfortable. The view from room was fantastic. Onsen in the room and Public onsen both were fabulous.
Staff were wonderful. We were able to meet our Japanese friends in the lounge near reception area and all have a coffee here.
Loved the outdoor hot bath area.
Modern hotel with everything you need whilst staying in Atami. Clean rooms and all modern. Really friendly staff on check in. We would certainly stay again!
This is a traditional Japanese experience from all perspectives. The view is spectacular and the property is very clean with exception of being a bit dusty.
