Kees, the owner is amazing. The place is great too. It’s an Airbnb kind of experience. The breakfast bar is available 24x7 which makes you wonder why other places don’t do the same. I liked the unique and homely feel of the place. The location is amazing as you’re right next to a canal and get the typical feel of being in Amsterdam. Stairs are exactly how the other reviews state, so maybe not the best fit for the elderly or in case you have lots of luggage. Kees also upgraded my room because there was availability so my stay couldn’t have been better. He also helped me with my luggage up the stairs - definitely went above and beyond 😄

Hotel Adolesce is located in an old canal house on one of the many canals in the center of Amsterdam, it has free WiFi and it is located opposite Museum Hermitage, close to the Music theater, Artis Zoo, Botanical Gardens and within walking distance of most places of interest and tram and metro. In the reception guests can enjoy 24/7 a buffet with coffee, tea, juice or chocolate milk, free of charge. The hotel offers the use of printer/laptop in the reception. The hotel has 4 stories and no elevator. All rooms located on the front of the building feature canal views and the rooms on the back of the building overlook the hidden Amsterdam gardens.
Couples in particular like the location – they rated it 9.5 for a two-person trip.
