Welcome staff - Jennie (I believe) was incredibly welcoming. Answered all our questions. Smiley and friendly and a perfect person to welcome us.
In the morning we were greeted for breakfast and a very friendly member of staff took our order and he checked that we were happy. Food was great.

It was a wonderful place to stay in North wales. I love the location, and it has a great view of hills. It is easier to cover the Snowdonia peaks from this location. Lovely place, lovely people. I will recommend this place.

Betws-y-coed is a renowned and often-visited location in Snowdonia, perfectly suited for famililies and countryside trekkers alike. Some of the restaurants and hotels may be expensive, but that is a reflection of the location's notoriety. There are, however, budget options for dining and accomodation. Betws-y-coed is well-placed for those who are visiting Snowdonia for hiking, for climbing, or for exploration of the dramatic mountainous countryside. We noticed that a great many other holiday-makers had brought their dogs as well as their children, we therefore assume that a good number of hotels in the area are dog-friendly. Betws-y-coed nightlife consists mainly of alfresco dining and drinking with banter between friends - that is the general impression we have of the nightime atmosphere. We have stayed in Betws-y-coed on three previous ocassions and will do so again.

Betws-y-coed is a really nice place and makes you feel like you really are on holiday. The views are stunning and have a real European feel. The place gets really busy so getting an evening meal can be tricky. Food and drinks are expensive, they are more than London prices. Compared to other places in North wales, Betws-y-coed is head and shoulders above them.

Beautiful scenery and great for walking.
Beautiful scenery and great for walking. Accessed by road and rail, its central location is ideal for visits to Bodnant Gardens and Snowdonia. Relatively easy for keen walkers to reach Fairy Glen and Conwy Falls, as well as Swallow Falls and the Ugly House..
Characterised by substantial stone properties and its riverside location, this is a charming place which can get very busy with hikers and sightseers. It's only a small town, but there are a variety of shops and places to eat - from small cafes to hotel restaurants to suit all pockets, but quality varies. Excellent food is available in the Royal Oak Hotel restaurant.
Golfers are welcome at the flat 9 hole course which has excellent greens and is well maintained.

Beautiful area....if you haven't been would highly recommend it. Plenty of outdoor activities and nice shops/restaurants/Coffee houses.
Very friendly area!! Only an hour from Holyhead ferry terminal.
Hotel location very close to the village centre with church nearby (nice to hear the bells). breakfast was very nice served in the room itself caused by covid restrictions, room was clean with hair-dryer, kettle and plenty of tea/coffee supply. Julie & Tony were really accommodating - prepared a take-away breakfast for us to have on our trip to the top of Snowdon. Really loved the whole area around the hotel and had a great time. Would recommend to everyone. Thank you very much for everything
We had a health problem and the owner changed the dates for us without charging extra with absolutely no hassle .
The hotel is just a short walk from the town/village Center and was very warm , this is a good walkers hotel.
It is not 5 star but very decent for the money so we were happy .
Well priced for the area and access to walking routes and transport .
The hotel is in a quiet place but at the same time on a main road.
The owner is nice and breakfast decent .
Breakfast was excellent. Room was also excellent.
Pool was colder than we wanted, specifically booked for a pregnant woman to have a swim but unfortunately too cold for her to get in. Very few hotels with indoor pools in the area.
Big disappointment was the hotel restaurant for dinner. Very slow service, all desserts came out very late, 1 large ice cream ordered for 3 toddlers to share which came out 20 minutes after the already late desserts.
Jackie was a friendly and hospitable host with great recommendations for hikes and things to do in the area. The parting gift of warm Welsh cakes was so very sweet (and delicious 😊). Our room was very clean and comfortable and breakfast was delicious and made to order. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting the Snowdonia area. It is a wonderful spot to relax but also to serve as a base camp for Snowdonia activities.
The property was just outside of the village with a short walk to local restaurants and hotels/pubs. We were able to leave car outside at the property. Gary & Jackie were fantastic hosts and gave us plenty of help with things to do in the area. Also as a bonus, the bus stop for our ride on the S1 bus to Snowdon was 20 yards from the front door. We had a great weekend, the breakfast was awesome too!
Wow, from the moment we walked into the Royal Oak Hotel, nothing was too much trouble. Jordan on the reception desk, went above and beyond for myself and i am extremely greatful for everything he did for myself and partner. Beautiful hotel, gorgeous rooms, lovely friendly staff, food absolutely amazing for breakfast & evening meal, we will be back. Thank you all again, special thanks to Jordan 😊
The room and bed was comfortable, and there is plenty of space in the facility. For a hostel, the room had more hotel like facilities with tea and coffee etc. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was very good with plenty on offer. Its a good start to the day. Also the dining area is spacious
There are some really comfortable chairs which you can relax in after a long day
We really enjoyed the breakfast with the artisan breads, the locally sourced foods, and the wonderful preperation. The proprioters we gractious and friendly and very proud (rightfully so) of their B & B. They seem to be very active in their Welsh community and had an excellent knowledge of the restaurants in the area.
Really friendly staff, really comfy and super dog friendly (loved the additional blanket and little treat for our dog!) Hotel was spotless throughout (despite being dog friendly) and is in a stunning setting. Breakfast was lovely too. Also close to lovely walks, villages and attractions. Really happy with our stay.
Hotel is central to Bettws-y-Coed area and Snowdonia Comfortable bed pristine white linen and towels
Friendly staff nothing too much trouble Welsh breakfast set you up for the day, Evening meal was large and nicely cooked everything was priced reasonable . Dog friendly too enjoyed our stay & hope to be back soon
Couldn't recommend this place more. Paul and his wife were so lovely and accommodating, great recommendations as to walks and restaurants in the area, the room was so comfortable and immaculately clean, breakfast was gorgeous with so much choice. Will absolutely be returning.
Staff were very helpful. Came to clean the bathroom when we found wee on the toilet seat and head hairs in the sink. Also helped my other half set up a birthday surprise for me.
Hotel was in a great location in the village and for exploring the area.
Lovely hosts who are quite welcoming and super informative about things to do (especially hikes of different sorts, our chief interest), charming house, and great location in town as well as a good base for seeing the area. Great breakfast too!
A return visit with my sister, we first came as kids in 1977! The hotel is in a great spot, the staff are all lovely and go out of their way to ensure you have all you need and the food is exceptional.
The hotel was immaculate and in a great location. Breakfast was fantastic and the lady who served us was very friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel!
A lovely hotel in a superb setting with plenty of car parking available. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.
