It was a stopover stay during our roadtrip- and we are glad we chose Thon- it's comfortable, and centrally located with an exceptional breakfast spread! The staff is warm and friendly.
There are parking spots nearby (paid) so that is not a problem too.

An unusual and “quirky” hotel that took a while to “understand”, but once the set up was clear it was a really interesting stay.
Genuine 18C buildings have been converted to hotel rooms and some of the fishing barns converted to accommodation for groups.
Accepting the challenges of staying in such historic accommodation, our stay over three nights over a 10 day period was really enjoyable. If a lightbulb doesn’t work - it’s all part of the charm.
Our private salon was amazing 😊
Excellent staff and a good “home cooked” buffet evening meal was great value, especially for Norway.

Boasting quiet street views, Harstad city studio apartment B. Is set in Harstad, around 700 metres from Harstad University College. Private parking can be arranged at an extra charge.
A gateway to other areas like Lofoten. My recommendation is to stay further afield to the full extent you can. as things like quiet, darkness and views all improve a lot away from the airport.
And once you do... it can be magic.

The city itself is not necessarily special or historic (though some bits are) but the area around the city has some great scenic walks and of course the outlook across the sea/bay is stunning at any time of year, but particularly in the blue hour of the winter days. Lots of buses run regularly to outlying areas and there are fast buses to the airport to connect with flight check-in times. Take a walk along Stien langs sjøen (path along the shore) to the Trondenes Historical Museum (great wee cafe there) and the Adolf cannon from WW2.

A transfer to the AirPort would be nice.
A transfer to the AirPort would be nice. Its one kilometer dangerous road and much heavy traffic. Taxi cost: 350 :- for drivning 3 minutes.
We booked to be near the airport so it was a disapointment.

Relatively old north Norway town being currently modernized.
Relatively old north Norway town being currently modernized. Cozy old city, modern waterfront and good choice of restaurants.
If hunting for northern lights, with good forecast and no clouds in the sky, you just walk up to the sport part above the town (high-jump area and cross-country tracks) and you can enjoy it directly from there.

Harstad has friendly locals, nice activities for both young and old, a great folk park for outdoor activities, a family pool Grottebadet, a great cultural centre "Kulturhuset" where concerts regularly are played, an art gallery where exhibitions and events happen, a fine bakery, and a fine little shop for womens clothing and colorful purses, and Trondarnes church... Come and stay a while on your way along the coast. :) You will not regret it!
The location was nice next to the water and perfect for a stopover for one night on our way to Senja from Lofoten island.
Breakfast was excellent with good choices and dinner was reasonably priced although selections were limited .
The bed is super comfortable even if the room is small. We have a nice window view to the water.
The staffs were extremely helpful and nice. That makes the stay wonderful and made us felt welcomed .
And the best of all we saw the Northern lights just outside the hotel .
Very clean and functional, and strategically situated close to the Harstad/Narvik airport. It is optimized for efficiency and great value for money. If you're hoping for a romantic weekend away, you might want to look elsewhere, but this is a great place to start and/or end a trip to Lofoten or Senja. Staff was very friendly, and the dinner buffet great value.
Perfect airport hotel. We stayed here twice and both times it met our needs perfectly. Staff are super helpful. Rooms are small but beds are really comfortable. Bathrooms clean and have everything you need. Breakfast great. We ate at the grill just down the road and the food was really good.
The location was central to downtown. We walked about 5 minutes to get to restaurants, etc. The room was quite large & comfortable. There was free parking on-site. The bathroom had shampoo & shower gel which was not common during our 13 day stay in Norway.
Very comfortable and clean , good breakfast , liked that you could help yourself to more towels , glasses etc . Had everything you needed . Little shop on site , garage for essentials /snacks and a restaurant near by as well as the one at the hotel .
The view of the Harstad port and the surrounding areas is stunning. The apartment is clean, spacious and has a separate living room. Parking is in front of the house.
Check-in and check-out is automated and very simple.
Very okay to stay overnight. A bit far from E10, but will do. Very big family suite, two rooms. Self check in, quiet and no staff. Parking around the corner on in front of the hotell, free from 18.00-08.00.
Breakfast = best hotel breakfast I've ever had, and it was FREE!
Staff = friendly, helpful, awesome (Sonje was amazing)
Location = STELLAR. Right across from the ocean and near a bunch of cool stuff
Thon Hotel Harstad used to have the best Breakfast all over Norway. But since Corona, they seem to have reduced things (juices, brownies… etc). But the variety is still very very good.
It was close to the airport which was good because there is no shuttle service and the taxi is 40 Euro for literally 1 minute drive. Most people were just walking down the highway.
Nice clean hotel. Perfect location for my needs. Breakfast had a huge choice and very tasty. Room was large and bathroom clean and tidy. Staff helpful at check-in and check out.
Room was good size, bed was comfortable, location was fine and close to all shops and cafes and grocery store and bus station. Clean hotel and good price for a solo traveler.
Beautiful trading post turned hotel. Lots of charm and character throughout. Location on the water is superb just be aware it's about a 30 minute drive from anything else.
Very warm welcome by a happy receptionist. Hotel centrally located in Harstad. Not only breakfast included, but also afternoon-coffee with pastry and dinner.
Amazing modern hotel in great location. The breakfast was delicious with many choices and the staff were brilliant. I wouldn’t hesitate to book here again.
