Only negative was food very ordinary at dinner time but breakfast was great. We were given A free half hour massage but we were taken unceremoniously to The little rooms set away from the main spa area. There was sand on the floor, sand on my bed, and the towel had been used before. Not at all what we were expecting. We ended up having other treatments In town. We had purposely booked this resort because it was written up as a Spa Resort. There were only 2 shuttles per day into town, with none confirmed for return. It was $8 taxi fare back which is not much, but was a bit too far to walk.
Management and staff were wonderful, and it was a beautiful traditional Balinese small resort. I would recommend it for a 3 day break.

The hostel is very aesthetically beautiful and the stuff is very nice. They also offer several activities to do to see places in Bali.
However I don't think it is worth the price it costs, the wifi hardly ever works, the bathroom shower floods very easily and also there was a sewer smell coming from my room.
Also, the common areas are cleared very early, at 10 p.m. leaving little room for getting to know other people, which I think is one of the nicest things a hostel can offer.
Bucu View Resort is a quiet retreat amidst tropical greenery, just 10 minutes’ walk from the Monkey Forest and Ubud Art Market. It features an outdoor pool and a spa.

Many beautiful places and sightseeings, but the place is just overcrowded, overpriced and the traffic is absolutely insane. We were staying only 3 nights and it was enough. If knew it I would choose more quiet location.

The experience in Ubud is very different depending on which part of Ubud you are staying. Central Ubud has many places to visit like Monkey Forest or walking around between rice fields. Outside the centre of Ubud, you have waterfalls and quiet places to stay.

The centre was to busy for us.
The centre was to busy for us. The traffic is awful but you get used to it. Plenty of eateries and shops. Huge variety of shop types. Expensive to cheap. Lots of cultural views to see and activities to do. Spas were amazing and cheap. Taxis were great to book on line. Use go get or similar. Outside markets were the placed to get cheap items to take home. We had a wonderful time but needed another week to really do the place justice, we are all coming back.

Ubud still has great charm and beautiful gracious people but the traffic and mayhem is too much.
If you want to really relax I think you need to stay out of town. Lots of great places to eat and go shopping and have massage but just crazy amount of tourists. I feel for the locals!

Loved being in Ubud, though I stayed outside of the main city. Favourite places would have been the rice fields - I did several walks to the rice fields near Ubud and it was so good. You didn't even have to walk far to experience peace and quiet. Did not rate the Campuhan Ridge trail - there were much better walks than that. Favourite place to eat was Mai Malu Warung, they had the absolute best black rice pudding. Loved the street life of Ubud - Balinese people in sarongs walking around, ceremonies, people carrying things on their heads, laying out blessings. It was so interesting and the Balinese people were truly lovely. I got around using taxis, but moped is the main transport if you can ride one. I would suggest taking Hydralyte, as it's very humid and can be dehydrating to walk a lot. Would probably avoid the water temple (wasn't worth it IMO) and some of the places I ate at next time.

Ubud is really the spiritual and cultural capital of Bali.
Ubud is really the spiritual and cultural capital of Bali. Anyone who visits Bali for enjoying nature and real Bali culture should stay in Ubud and enjoy your vacation in Bali from there. We went to four sides of Bali, North, South, East and West. We cannot pick any favourite places since all were our favourites. Each temple has a unique beauty and feeling. Beaches were good too but unfortunately we were not really beach people. so we enjoyed the mountains and other beautiful places. We ate everywhere we went and all places had their famous Nasi Goreng and Mi Goreng along with some other continental items as well. It is quite easy to get around if you hire a car with driver through Klook or Booking.com. You can make the custom itinerary and they will take you there. Uluwatu Temple, Penglipuran Village, Sacred Monkey forest, Ulan Temple etc are all beautiful and we did not know when to stop capturing that beauty through our cameras. If anything I would improve for my next trip will be give one day in between travelling to north and east since it can be tiring if done on consecutive days. And give at least half day for exploring Ubud art markets sicne we did that in a hurry. Rice fields are another favourite attraction.
Wahooo effect guaranteed! The Maya villa is a beautiful villa, very well maintained, with a superb view of the rice fields. It offers beautiful volumes while keeping an intimate side. The welcome was just perfect!!! A big thank you to Iluh for her smile and kindness: she was able to meet all our expectations and even more!! A big thank you also to Komang who prepared us every morning the best banana pancake we have ever eaten! So ... do not hesitate to stay in this villa with private pool ... you will not be disappointed
Amazing hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. They have wonderful infinity pool with the view over the forest. It is very peaceful here as opposed to crowded Ubud. However, if you want to go to the Ubud center it is a few minutes drive, they also offer a free shuttle service. Their service is the best, rooms are always spotless clean. They offer the brekfast that is included in price which is served all day long - which is great if you plan some early morning trips.
A heartfelt recommendation from us! We saw a lot of hotels on our Asien tour last several months and the Ubad Retreat is one of the best hotels in which we felt completely comfortable! Everything was good and was made perfect with the warmth of the staff and the owner! We also extend our standing here. If we wouldn’t interested to see more in Bali we would stay here the whole month! Thank you ubad retreat team! Hope to see you once again!
The SereS was an absolute treat. A truly luxurious resort with the best staff! My junior suite was incredible but the hotel manager was kind enough to give me a free upgrade to a poolside Villa. The Villa was exceptional. The location is in close proximity to all of the great attractions in Ubud but there’s plenty to do at the hotel; including a weekly traditional performance of Balinese dancers.
The hotel represents a little oasis in the middle of the busy center of Ubud. My room in one of the wonderful villas of the hotel was so beautiful and comfortable and from my balcony I could enjoy the surrounding greenery and the sounds of nature. On top of it all, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, always a pleasure to see anyone there. I am definitely coming back for another stay.
The best part of our 5 night stay in Ubud.
We stayed in the deluxe with private pool.
It was a comfortable stay, lovely waterfall sounds to drown out the noisyness of ubud. Complimentary water refilled daily.
Delicious breakfast was served on the villa patio, the staff were amazing and super responsive on WhatsApp, We also enjoyed a lovely massage on the patio.
Swimming in the wide private pool overlooking the jungle was one of the best moments in Bali. That was a perfect view. Sunset view was crazy!!! ❤️All staff was friendly and nice. We got room service everyday and all food were very delicious. We were impressed. The price of food was cheaper than another hotel in NUSA DUA but taste was much better :)
Very very very friendly staff. We had a beautiful room with private pool, all very clean and great atmosfere. The whole stay was super relaxing. The area is just outside of the business of Ubud, so it is quiet and peaceful. The food was amazing, the coffee was amazing. We highly recommend this hotel! we loved every minute of our stay!
Actually, what I liked the most is how respectful this Resort and staff is , for me it was 5 stars not 4 , i really recommend everyone to book with them
You have all what you need in this hotel from Spa to restaurant to swimming pool and even Yoga sessions
The area is quite and not far from Ubud city center with Scooter or Car
What an amazing 4 nights we had in Ubud. This villa exceed our expectations. Surrounded by green rice fields, and less than 10km away to some beautiful waterfalls, bali zoo, monkey forest, bird park, art market and many others. 5 stars to the friendly staffs (and owner) who will take a good care of you during your stay.
Location was great as it is deep in an alley yet near Yoga Barn and lots of cafes. If you are sound sensitive, staying near the larger pool at the end of the hotel is the best option. TV can connect to Netflix and service is very good and attentive. WiFi is good enough for work. Pool is pretty huge and maintained well.
Gorgeous villa with private pool ❤️
W
The staff were delightful. We walked around the local streets and found some wonderful little restaurants that were SO delicious! Shout out to Cafe Vespa!! Best dragon fruit and banana smoothie!
We loved the location of Villa Nirvana.. in a village just on the edge of busy Ubud x
This is the best place we’ve been on Bali. Just at the outskirts of Ubud. We had the family villa with private pool. Putu helped us with everything we needed or responded quick, and the breakfasts were a gem every morning.
Instead of some villas this one is just off the main road, making the traffic noise less.
The room design is very appealing. Our room included a private pool, which added to the comfort. Breakfast was "ok", nothing too special though. The AC system was quiet and efficient !
There are a few waling options from the hotel towards Ubud town across the rice fields. This is a nice experience.
The rooms are big and clean with large balconies. The pool is amazing, food was delicious and the staff are delightful. The hotel is in the quieter part of Ubud (which is the best area) yet it is all short walking distance to bars and other restaurants.
The best stay ever in ubud. The staff were very professional and helpful. We felt we were at home. I highly recommend the hotel and next time I’m coming back I’ll not think to book any other hotel. Thank you for the lovely experience.
I stayed in one bedroom villa with private pool. The villa is so amazing, big space, comfort bed, nice private pool, nice view, wonderful hotel staff, all are prefect. I stayed here for 4 wonderful days.
Villa with private pool, amazing staff, breakfast to the room, scooter rental for very nice price and location is the best in the Ubud.
Perfect stay, would come back for sure.
