The old town within the walled city has plenty to explore. Lots of places to eat and drink. We went on an interesting walking tour which explained the history of the city.
We were only there a day as walking the Camino Primitivo but could easily have stayed longer.

The city is beautiful and has lots to offer… for example the Cathedral has an impressive museum upstairs on the gallery as well as a stunning altarpiece and stained glass windows; the tourist information office has an important exhibition about the Roman wall, which is apparently the most complete walled city in Europe. You can walk all the way along the wall in about 45 minutes.
Coupled with this, there are amazing bars and restaurants with friendly locals and the Playa de Las Catedrales, north of Lugo is the most stunning beach I’ve ever seen.

Mostly pedestrian within the walls, so easy to wander through interesting streets and you can do full circuit of the Roman walls, about 2k, wide path and views over city.Other Roman remains slightly disappointing although the mosaic house was worth visiting. We also enjoyed the exhibition on the Camino in the regional tourist office. Panels in Gallician, Spanish and English. Helpful attendant showed us costume display, garden and gave us leaflets for the different Camino routes.

Lugo is a good place to visit for a day or overnight trip - the Roman walls and old town offer good options for sightseeing- walk the entire wall and then there are many fabulous bars and restaurants - great Tapas - it is not touristy
This was a lovely quirky hotel inside the city walls. My room was very spacious, with a huge bathroom. There was a lift, the room was well air conditioned, the furniture was lovely, bed comfortable with good linen. The reception had an excellent and very helpful attendant. We also used the hotel parking area, which was expensive, but given it was within the city walls was good value. Only a short stroll the the main restaurant area and attractions within Lugo. I would absolutely stay here again.
A beautiful brand-new apartment right in the center of Lugo. Very spacious with all comfort you need. The interior feels like a boutique hotel. The bathroom was just great, We were happy to use the washing machine. The reception was perfect. The lady was happy for us to take our race-bikes to the room, which is a great comfort on a long distance trip. Lugo was a great surprise and a don't-miss town on the Camino to Santiago. The apartment is ideally located. Quit but near the center.
Nothing
Very bad Hotel experience!!!!
Staff member Laura very mean, bad attitude! Others fair
The Hotel turn off AC automatically at 4 am, "Unbelievable" Never, ever has experience anything like that.
The Hotel breakfast not good, service bad, not enough service people to handle all costumers.
The Hotel is more interesting in saving money than service the customers.
Dont go there if you want to experience Lugo center, many other options closer.
Perfect and charming host!
The location is great, Inside and near to the wall. A lot of bars and restaurants in these vivid neighborhood,
If you come by car a paid parking is available close to the gate and hotel.
Ask for a room at the back if your intention is to get an early sleep.
Nice, very clean and spacious room and bathroom.
Excellent value for money.
I recommend it heartily to anyone visiting the beautiful city of Lugo!
The location of the hotel is great for walking to the old town and bus station. The staff were friendly, helpful & efficient. Everything was very clean. My room was spacious & spotlessly clean. I ate a couple of times in the hotel restaurant, and the food was very good, if a little pricey. There is the option to leave luggage on your checkout day, which was great & meant I could make the most of my final day in Lugo.
This was maybe the most efficient, perfect studio apartment yet. Super clean, modern and well lit. We showed up early and our hostess stored our bags while we went for lunch.
The combo washer/dryer was outstanding after 9 days on the Camino and we opted for some light snacks from the grocery for dinner after a large lunch for which the kitchen was well suited.
Best air-conditioning we have had in Spain!
Jose at the front desk is AWESOME. So very helpful, friendly, and gracious. Had some problems with our room assignments after a 20-mile day in the rain. We were exhausted. Jose was very patient and helped us though. The breakfast buffet was fantastic. They helped arrange taxi service for 11 of us the next day. Great hotel...cannot recomend enough..
the Location was great- close to the gate into the walled city but in a quiet safe neighbor hood. The hotel is close to the bus station and also walkable to the train station which was great since we we in on train from Madrid and left on the bus :)
The staff was super helpful and the rooms were perfect, very comfortable and clean
The hotel was beautiful, comfortable, super clean. Breakfast buffet was wonderful and delicious-great variety. We are walking the Camino De Santiago and everything close to Camino was booked but glad we had this hotel as an option. FYI -they have an Avis/Budget office to rent car if needed.
The location inside the city walls is perfect for exploring Lugo. The apartment is modern, spacious and comfortable with a small outside area as well. There is free street parking outside of the city walls a short walk away or paid parking garages if preferred.
it’s a sweet little apartment that is particularly conducive for more than one night in Lugo. we only had the one night, so it was more than what we needed. But, they had little extra things left for us for our breakfast, etc. very nice.
Great location inside the Roman wall. We could see people walking on the wall. The hotel is also close to everything, and the host is very helpful and friendly. It's only 100 meters from the Camino, so it's very convenient.
Cafe Ziros next door to the Pensión. The owner, José, was friendly and helped us contact Hotel Metropol when we couldn’t get into the building. We looked forward to chatting with him everyday we were in Lugo.
Very helpful and cheerful lady on Reception, who helped me to order a taxi for the following day. Hotel very close to the Cathedral and the Camino. Very well situated hotel to bars and restaurants.
Very modern and new hotel just out of the centre of Lugo. Super nice rooms, good location with the old town a 10min walk with its intact city wall. Breakfast ok, continental only but good coffee
The staff were very helpful and friendly. We arrived hungry but too late for breakfast but they fitted us in anyway. The hotel was in a great location for a lovely afternoon in Lugo.
