The room is not very big, but it is comfortable. It has a big soft bag, new furniture, and modern plumbing. The soundproofing of the room is excellent, with a big heavy door. The hotel is modern and clean. The staff is friendly and professional. We really liked the breakfast and dinner; they were tasty with a wide variety of options.
I can completely recommend this hotel for family and romantic holidays!

Esztergom is not a big city and it gives opportunities for travelers to walk to most of the sights. The importance of the city on the Danube was high and it is rich in history. The seat of the head of the Hungarian Catholic church is in Esztergom and the cathedral is stunningly beautiful with a cafe in the dome part, which provides uncomparable view of the city and the surroundings.
I would visit again if I have opportunity!

With the basilica looming above it, there's a real sense of history about this town. Very filmic atmosphere. Lovely river frontage and great cycleways and walkways. The town square has its own wishing well fountain a la Trevi.
it's close by train to Budpest and definitely worth a weekend or more stay

Lots of colourful pansies everywhere, a very clean and well kept town with plenty of cafes and bars. Wonderful views over the Danube from the castle at the top of the hill. Well worth a visit as it is less than 2 hours from Budapest on the train.

Esztergom is a charming little town, with pretty streets and a wonderful cathedral to visit. It's easy walking distance everywhere. We ate in the evening in a great restaurant not far from the river called Mediterraneo, which we would thoroughly recommend. There was also a cracking little venue called Sportalsó which had live music on.

You don't need to stay in Esztergom.
You don't need to stay in Esztergom. Just visit the Basilica and Castle and go back. In winter, even on Saturday almost all stores and cafes were closed. We couldn't do anything in cold weather.
Nicely decorated room, with style.
The Room was spacious. The bathroom provide everything a boutique hotel should have (shampoo, conditioner, body lotion etc.)
We had an amazing breakfast, can be ordered a Meal from the menu, plus we got croissants, a fruit juice and very well made coffee.
The hotel is centrally located. The staff speaks english very well and is highly professional.
The hotel also has restaurant (Bistro42) where we had dinner. Delicious meals, very good wines.
I have stayed here twice recently with my wife. The hotel is small and intimate and finished to a very high standard. The rooms are not large, but perfectly decorated. Try to get a balcony room. The room is spotless, well furnished, shower and bathroom exceptional. The breakfast is very good, and the associated restaurant is a favourite of ours. Finally, the staff are perfect, friendly and professional. We will be back many times
We found Villa Gran through booking.com white on a bicycle trip from Germany to Budpest. I booked it one day before our stay. I must say that this was our best hotel, and we were traveling for nearly one month. It was beautiful, located just below the cathedral, the staff were inviting, the room perfect, and the breakfast was the best of our entire trip. I highly recommend Villa Gran.
Wonderful pension fantastically located in a quiet side street right by the historic centre of Esztergom. We had a warm and kind welcome and both check-in and check-out were smooth. The room itself was quiet, calm and cool and we slept very well. There was also room in the beautiful central patio to store our bikes overnight. Highly recommended.
Fabulous hotel in Esztergom close to a nice sightseeing area (castle with great views over the Danube river)
Giant public pool across the street included in the price (beware it gets very crowded).
Big buffets for breakfast and dinner with great international and local food choices. All included.
Comfortable room with everything you need.
We liked everything about this hotel - it was perfect for our purpose. We cycled from Budapest to Vienna and could leave our bicycles in the courtyard. Everything was new, we had a minibar, a Nespresso machine - it was better than all our expectations
The hotel has a nice small garden. Breakfast is tasty, nothing special, though. The location is okay, a bit far from the city centre, but it is close to other landmarks like castle on the hill. Parking is good.
Very clean. Nice new furniture. Location - in the center. The hotel has free private parking place .
Pets are allowed. We were with our dog .
Breakfast can be better , no vegan options.
Everything. Friendly and helpful staff, delicious breakfast and dinner. We also tried the restaurant for lunch and the food was just perfect. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Very, very friendly staff! Efficient and perfect in their handling and communication of the rent.
Perfect place in the center of Esztergom for to persons travelling together.
