Caldas de Reis is a beautiful, walkable village. There is a 30-minute walk to a waterfall that I wanted to take but it was too hot that afternoon. It was too hot to take advantage of the hot pools as well. It would have been nice to stay another day here, take a rest day. The restaurants looked really nice as well.

Caldas de Reis is a regular stop-over on the Camino Portuguese. The main square with palm trees is lovely. There are cafes and you can sit there have coffee and enjoy, I only made a one night stop so can't really say much more.

We only stayed in Caldas de Reis as we were walking the Camino Portugese. We saw lots of things that'd been nice to further explore if we'd had a couple of days there....river, historic buildings etc.

it is a very quaint little town but the staff in 2 of the bars we went to were very rude. We left the first without ordering food because we found them so rude. In the second one the waiter was agressive. We did find a cafe beside the bridge with good breakfast and really friendly staff.
Lovely historic property that was originally a bathhouse from 1780. Hotel was located along the river close to the highlights of the city with many restaurant choices. The bathhouse and services were very nice and easy to book even at the last minute. My room was very comfortable, the bathroom was well laid out and the shower was amazing. The hotel was located on the Camino Way so it was a perfect location for me as a pilgrim on the Camino. Staff was vey attentive and helpful.
Very clean room, with towels which is always a bonus! Enough space to store your luggage and offered a window to let the fresh air in. Very clean and the kitchenette was perfect to make breakfast and store some food. there are two full bathrooms that can be used which helped! Elevator was great. Amazing location to explore Caldas de Reis and close to all the main attractions for the Camino de Santiago.
I didn't realize how much further out of Caldas de Reis this was. We were exhausted after a long day on the camino, and had to walk an additional 3+ km out of town. The manager was not friendly, room smelled of smoke, but was clean. Room was heated. We could hear people in other rooms and it just gave off a very American "motel" vibe - not in a good way, though nothing bad happened.
The most amazing hotel I’ve ever been in. The staff was amazing and the food was great. We arrived from an exhaustive Camino walk right before a deluge of rain. A river runs through the property, and we were able to watch it rise overnight. We were willing to quit the Camino if we could have stayed another night!
the apartment was beautiful with everything you could possibly need for a short stay on the camino or longer in the beautiful caldas de reis. thank you pilar for being such a welcoming host and thank you o balcon do rio for providing us with such a comfortable resting stop. a real treat
What a fantastic hotel so older world building but very modern and tasteful decor. Water and kettle and tea and coffee provided. Room was beautiful. Restaurant on site with a great selection of food. Breakfast was extra and worth every penny. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
- New hotel, completely new, stylish & very tasteful rooms.
- Restaurant / breakfast room located in a nicely renovated farm house.
- Very welcoming & nice host, hotel is run by the private owners themselves, family atmosphere.
- Nice olive grove on the property
Thank you Joli for making my 2 night stay so special! Your wealth of knowledge about the beautiful town of Caldas de Reis was happily shared and I had the BEST time in your very special Albergue… oh and with the most beautiful stamps on the camino! 🙏🏻🥰
An Absolutely amazing find in Caldas de Reis. Just like a home from home while walking the camino (right on the camino path too). The host could not of been any more amazing. Everything you needed to have a clean and comfortable stay. Thank you so much.
Most importantly, our host. Miguel was so hospitable, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He went out of his way to help us. We stayed at his properties in Pontevedra and Caldas de Reis and they were by far our best stays on the Camino.
Beautiful renovated hotel. in the middle of the old town. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. The food was so good and fresh. I really loved this place and the people and the town. Very frindly place and the entire town.
The casa was a wonderful, quiet, clean place to stay while walking the Camino. The room was extremely neat and tidy. Check-in at a nearby hotel was easy and the staff were very friendly.
Very comfortable apartment with views out to the church.
Very clean and modern.
You also have use of hotel pool and sun lounges which is located 50 metres away from the apartment.
Nice, clean; friendly staff. Room had nice little patio. Restaurant adjacent to hotel very convenient. Great location. Less than 1 block off Camino de Santiago.
