This beautiful and historic castle is set within 1,000 acres of woodland. On the banks of the Moy River, it boasts a restaurant made from the remains of a 17th-century Spanish galleon.

Exactly what I envisioned for a stay at a castle. Such an intriguing history. The forest trails on the property were peaceful and lovely.

Ballina is a friendly and very interesting town.

Ballina is a friendly and very interesting town. There are many places of interest with interest boards and murals explaining about people and places. The Jackie Clarke Collection is well worth a visit, and it is free. You can read about many people and events in the town and surrounding area then go visit them. It is clear the War of Independence and the Civil War had huge effects upon the town and surrounding area.

Plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants in this picturesque town on the river Moy. We can see why Jack Charlton loved the place. We enjoyed watching the anglers waste deep in the river fishing for salmon. We had dinner in the hotel on both evenings and the food was great.

A lovely town, with lots to see and do in the area, nice places to eat, close to many other nice places to visit, so a good base for the area. Get out and enjoy the music and arts, and its ambition to be the most climate friendly town.

The rooms were beautifully decorated - really spacious and clean . Comfy beds . Gorgeous bar /lounge area - they lit the fire each evening which was a nice touch . It really is a proper castle building - loads of unique features . The food in Jack Fenns for breakfast was fantastic! Staff in there so welcoming and friendly too! Food in the library restaurant was good too. The goats cheese starter was delicious! The hotel is right in the middle of Belleek Woods so beautiful walks right on your doorstep and only a few Km outside Ballina town.

The Loft is right in the center of town, but I could only tell from the amount of people in the ground floor pub. The hotel above was very quiet and comfortable. The staff couldn't have been kinder, helping find shelter for the bicycle I was riding along the Wild Atlantic Way. The trad breakfast in the pub was terrific. One thing to note is that there are many stairs to get to the rooms, so take caution if you have ambulatory difficulty. If you are staying in or passing through Ballina, stay here; I would again.
