Located in the Flemish province of West Flanders, the city of Ostend (or Oostende) is the biggest on the Belgian coast. This cosmopolitan seaside resort has long sandy beaches, a modern harbour and magnificent fish restaurants.
Built in September 1905 in the presence of King Leopold II, the imposing Roman Catholic Neo-Gothic church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul is the symbol of Oostende. The Oostende Railway Station is a gorgeous building between the Marina and the Vissers Kaai, featuring classical style architecture. Leaving the railway station you will find a stunning fishing market with numerous fish stands selling mussels, crabs and herrings.
