The view of Lake Brienz and the waterfalls are stunning. The staff were extremely nice and welcoming. Dinner was decent ( we really like the venison) as was breakfast- quite the spread. Our room was normal sized, clean and comfortable. Nice modern bathroom.
The Brienz hotel enjoys a quiet location 984 feet from Lake Brienz, on the outskirts of the city. It offers free parking and a fine restaurant with a terrace.

The location is a beautiful location in the countryside, surrounded by farmland. And right down the street from the Ballenburg living museum. Breakfast on the terrace was wonderful even on a cool foggy morning. Food was very good and fresh. The rooms are quite unique but comfortable. We only stayed for one night and was unable to take advantage of everything. Parking fills up so if it is important to be in the garage, make the reservation with the room.

A nice place for the travellers want to stay away from the busy cities like interlaken and Lucerne. Never the less well connected with both of places with a travel time of 30 minutes to 1 Hour by train. It’s must visit city alongwith the Rothorn Kulm. The lake is very nice and you can find food mart (COOP) very near to Brienz station along with local restaurants there.

Brienz is a small town on the shore of the Brienzersee that in October was a very beautiful and peaceful place to stay. It has a magnificent view of the lake and the surrounding mountains. The Rothornbahn will take you to the top of the Brienzer Rothorn with is fabulous views of the Alps. There are a lot of hiking trails that are easily accessible from Brienz. You can also take the boat across the lake to hike around Giessbach falls and enjoy the terrasse bar at the Grandhotel. We enjoyed eating at Tea Room Walz (which had a great vegan option) and Berghaus Planap (a bit of a hike). An outstanding selection of cheeses can be found at Chas Fritz. We also just enjoyed walking along the lake on the Brienzer Uferweg.

True gem of Switzerland.
True gem of Switzerland. A wonderful wood carving town by the lake side. Great food and culture here. Perfect place for walks. If you need to chill out without an agenda and do your own thing , this is a good option to explore. Safe to travel with loved ones. Locals are respectful and friendly. Also a good place to make a base and travel to other cantons of the country for day trips via ferry , train and bus (highly recommend taking a Swiss Pass) You can also take a dip in the lake and drink alpine water straight from the tap as the locals themselves do and recommend.

Brienz has the best of both worlds.
Brienz has the best of both worlds. On the one hand, it is a charming village with traditional buildings, away from the hustle and bustle of city life, and with wonderful views over the Alps and the lake. On the other hand, it has shops and restaurants and it is served by frequent public transport, so you can use it as a base to explore the region, even if you don't have a car.
This is an exceptional property located right next to the famous Giessbach Falls, a stunning waterfall. Our room had a view of the falls, with a sitting area and French doors with a balcony. The building is historic and beautifully decorated in all of the common areas, with a large outdoor patio area for dining also. It's a very short walk to overlook the falls close up on a bridge, and they have a funicular that goes down to the lake (Brienzersee) where the steamboat stops on their tour of the lake.
A lovely little inn in the middle of cow fields, perfect location for a visit to the Trauffer museum (highly recommend, our nearly 7-year-old daughter loved it) and Ballenberg. The staff and manager were exceptional, and made us feel like home. I'd suggest requesting a room on the backside of the hotel to have a view of the fields.
This was my daughter's favorite accomodations (we stayed in 7 different places on our trip). We will definitely be back.
Loved the location, the space, the balcony views of Lake Brienz and one of the best hosts we’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Parking was plentiful in the area and reasonably priced at 5 CHF a day between 7am and 7pm. The train station is an easy walk. We were able to walk to rent a boat and to the wildlife park. This is a great (less touristy) area to base yourself and explore this part of Switzerland.
The view (we asked for a lake view) was excellent! Because the hotel sits above the main city, the views are tremendous. The rooms are super cozy, decorated with personal touches and all in wood. The view at breakfast was incredible! It's just a few minutes walk to the main city with lots of shopping and restaurant options. The staff at check in and at the restaurant are very friendly.
Perfect location. Right in front of train station, and overlooks Lake Brienz itself. There's a kiosk with basic necessities plus 'coop' supermarket, an ATM and a few restaurants close by. Additionally, The location is right beside the popular steam train (Brienz Rothorn Bahn) that brings you up the mountain sightseeing.
Excellent spot with private balcony overlooking lake Brienz. Close to station and ferry. Lovely local hotels and shops. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. The apartment was quiet and there was a private garden which was nice. There was a good washer/dryer which was great for us with small children,
I had the pleasure of staying at B & B Brienz which situated in a lovely location. The hotel boasted breathtaking views from the rooms, and the delicious breakfast was served each morning. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a delightful stay accompanied by warm hospitality and a picturesque setting.
The place is amazing and clean and in a very nice location 24 minutes driving to Interlaken 5 minutes to the lake, the nature around the place is unbelievable especially when looking from the balcony!!
The room a little bit too small for 2.
The host was very helpful and respectful.
We stayed in a double room with a shared bathroom, and it was just fine. Location is exceptional - train and boat on Lake Brienz just footsteps away. Staff was very helpful and we were allowed to leave our luggage after checkout while we toured nearby. Breakfast was ample and good.
the view is fabulous and the location near to brienz train satation just 6 min. walking beside that the room was so clean and the hotel is so quite and the staff was so helpful......I will come back to this hotel if I will come to Switzerland again
The location, the view on the lake, the outdoor area are great.
The personal is kind.
The daily cleaning was great.
There is enough parking space even when the hotel is full.
Hiking to the mountains can start right from the hotel.
The hotel faces the beautiful lake and the location is near the station, only five minutes from the station. However the staffs are not kind at all. The hotel has a restaurant. The waiter works very hard.
Very clean. Quick check in. Small balcony with chairs and table and side view on the Brienz lake. Very nice buffet breakfast with a wide variety of sweet and savory food.
The location was very nice. The price was also good for Switzerland. The lake is very beautiful on a sunny day. They have table tennis, table football, paddle boards etc.
The location by Lake Brienz was fantastic, lovely view from almost all rooms. Restaurant on-site which was convenient. A short walk to Brienz West train station.
