Hotel am Markt, hotel in Nittel

This traditional-style hotel in Saarburg stands beside the waterfall in the pedestrian area. It offers individually designed rooms, and a German-Italian restaurant with a large terrace.

The room was spacious and comfortable with a little table by the window, from where you can see the canal and the waterfall (and Christmas tree in season). Parking was easy at the end of the street.

I have been in Nittel only in valley season.

I have been in Nittel only in valley season. And just for work in Luxembourg as is verzy convenient for that. I understand that in high season the Little town Will be very touristic and crowded, but currently is great

May weekend - or 1st weekend after May 1st sees the annual days of open cellars, where one may visit up to 14 different winemakers. Strolling through the town, sometimes up into the vines to it is possible to try the newly available wines, and to make the odd purchase for later collection. This town has become a renouned spot for good wine, one of the vintners even has been in the Gault Milleau for the last 10 or so years, naturally the reader will need to find this winmaker´s location his or herself, it would be unfair to the other winemakers to let on, as most are in the same quality range. I personally return here multiple times over the year, having made friends over the 20 or so years the town has been on my visit list.

Located direcly at the Mosel river, the cycle path and the train station which goes to either Trier and down to the French border. There are a few restos near by and walkable where you can drink local wine. My recommendation would be the Apel resto. Very busy so please book in advance. This is a quite cheap self check in, no frills hotel. Had initial problems with one of the terminals but help in form of a friendly young Ukrainian was near. The rooms are about 20m2 and have an acceptable standard. TV only receives a handful channels.

The Mühlengarten is right at the bus stop in Nittel and straight across the train station, so if you don't have a car, you have direct access to public transport within Germany and towards Luxemburg as well. If you have a car, there is a big parking lot. If you only plan to stay in Nittel for a day or two and otherwise you'd only use the room for sleeping, it's cheap. Wifi was okay.

There was no breakfast served at the hotel, but coffee and a nice breakfast meal was available down the road at a bakery. Although I did not use it, the hotel has a community kitchen and is well stocked.

Decent room with a lot of space. Check in process was smooth. A reception is not necessary in this way. Downstairs is a restaurant, not related to the hotel, but very convenient. Better than expected

The room was large and clean. The TV was functioning and there was a bottle of grapefruit to welcome us. The location of the Hotel is in a cute village with plenty of opportunity for wine tasting.

The hotel has a neat vibe and style. The price was great, the room was clean and tidy. I even ended up with a big balcony... nice to step out for some fresh air first thing in the morning.

It is a ghost hotel. During my stay (one week) I haven't spotted any member of the staff. The single room is small and there was no cleaning service during my stay. Poor Wifi speed.
