Pirna is an ideal base if you want to explore Saxon Switzerland. The Old Town is compact but very lovely. It has very tranquil ambiance, which suits travelers seeking a peaceful getaway. For the people to love old architecture, Pirna is a gem as it is completely unspoiled with modern concrete monsters. There are many great restaurants and cafes within the Old Town, though most close quite early. From Pirna, it only takes within less than 1 hour to get to Bastei, Bad Schandau or other smaller towns.AnFinland

The apartment is in the old town of Pirna, bu quiet as it's a couple of streets out of the centre. It looks exactly like the photos. Would highly recommend staying in Pirna instead of Dresden - it's a great base. The walk into the old town was easy, maybe 10 or 15 minutes, and the town of Pirna seemed very safe, even at night walking to a restaurant for take-out. The train station had regular trains running into Dresden and down to other stations on the Elbe. Likewise, the bus service was regular and timely.

You could borrow bikes from the owner, there was a small kitchen and dining area in your apartment and a shared kitchen and large dining room in the lobby area.
