We were there in early July.
We were there in early July. It would have been better to go in August and let the water have a few more weeks to warm up. The water temperature was about 18 degrees when we were there, and that's a bit cold for me. The town is lovely and the people are quite friendly. Warnemunde is a very nice place with a lot of nice restaurants and really cosy. During winter time its also very quiet and relaxed. Summertime and Easter there are much more people, but also very nice during the warm period of the year and nice beach. Warnemunde is the perfect location if you want to visit the very nice Christmas Market in Rostock.

Warnemünde is a gorgeous small city. It's relaxed and very clean. We found it perfect for visiting with our small children. There's a nice park, the beach, the Nivea indoor pool and the Warnefornien (LadenCafé), where they serve the yummiest coffee in town. (Actually, it's the only spot we found to serve high-quality and strong coffee, so skip the other cafés and go there right away ;-)...) We also visited Rostock Zoo which is beautiful.

Warnemunde is an attractive port on the Ost See. It has long wide, sandy beaches and seems to be very popular in summer. We stayed as we were departing on a cruise from the port. It is accessible by train from Rostock or Berlin etc. There are numerous cafes, restaurants, and shops for tourists to enjoy. It is a very pleasant little village to wander around.

I was there to work and explore, and I really enjoyed being able to grab a glass of wine in the evenings and write comfortably in the common area. It was also great to have two grocery stores very nearby, and be able to walk 10-15 minutes to reach all the action in Warnemünde.

There are no taxis at the station and walking would be far too far.

There is a sauna too but we didn't get to try it as it was full when we wanted to use it. Good location in Warnemunde walking distance to alter Strom, beach, supermarkets, the train station etc. Let us park our motorcycle opposite. Rooms were comfortable.
