Cartajema is a tiny white village amongst the chestnut trees in a valley outside of Ronda. It is down a narrow curvy road. Once you arrive you will have to drive tiny narrow streets to the hotel but the town is so small you will not hit other traffic. But squeezing into the parking area was not for the faint of heart. It is the only hotel in the town and you visit for the views. It was dead quiet and had lovely views of the surrounding valley and other villages in the distance.

The hospitality was outstanding and facilities very satisfactory. We showed up dripping wet, cold and muddy from a day of hiking in rain and were welcomed as though we were family. Great ambiance, food and service at the bar-restaurant too.
