The breakfast was very good. The woman was willing to prepare anything. She was very attentive and friendly.
The place is very authentic and well kept Basque house from year 1400

Reception service was incorrect ( no feedback on our complaints) service at the bar, terras, and Bistro was very slow, and bad due lack of staff. Food in Bistro is far below par. The room is too small, no privacy in the bathroom. Shower in the bathtub big no-no.
Waist of time as we used this hotel as a transit hotel, but the hotel was far away from the highway, and was not worth the detour.
The remote location is an advantage, for the quietness and the views, but also an inconveneince as you would have to drive probably 20 miles to find another good restaurant, and the roads have a lot of curves, as can be expected in the mountains.
The hotel grounds, building, decoration of common areas and bedroom are superb.
The food was delicious and the staff very nice and efficient.
The degustation menu at Bailara should not be skipped at 85$
I live this hotel and have stayed before many times. There is a big variety of rooms. The ones in the first floor, tiwards the front are amazing and would get top rating in all the categories. The one we stayed on this time, was in the first floor, but towards the back. Room was very small and the bathroom was too minimal.
A beautiful 300 year old mansion completely refurbished emerged into Basque countryside. Ideal place for 3 days hideout. The hotel has its own excellent gourmet restaurant Bailara (to be booked in advance) with amazing dishes and excellent relation quality/price.
Very unique places to stay surrounded by gorgeous basque country side. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff is very welcoming. The hotel has an amazing restaurant, Bailara, that's definitely worth the visit during your stay.
Very pleasant overall experience with very friendly and professional staff in the hotel and in the bistro.
Nice breakfast.
Beautiful building and location despite being reasonably close to the motorway.
Beautiful old building in a super quiet location overlooking a valley.
Rather nice to be in a small hotel without too many guests.
Superb restaurants and service. The Bailara restaurant was exceptional.
