We (two married couples) stayed at Remanso for two nights in April. Everything about our stay at the location was delightful. The views from the rooms and terrace are breathtaking and the whole atmosphere is utterly peaceful. There are nice paved walking paths that go up into the mountains and around the village that provided peaceful and relaxing recreation. The staff catered to our every need with a smile. We ate three meals each day at the restaurant downstairs and enjoyed a great variety of traditional regional dishes and soups. They served me the best steak I ate in Spain. (Fantastic!) The lake trout was also exceptional. My wife really enjoyed the sopa castellana. The bed was firm and comfortable. The shower always had plenty of hot water and good pressure.

Sheltered by the magnificent landscape of the Vera and Tiétar Valley, this hotel is set in a castle dating from the 15th century – perfect for a peaceful break in the Extremaduran countryside.

Not much. It is just a glorified hotel in a palace that requires most guest to haul luggage up several flights of stairs—or pay extra for rooms with lift.
