It was a good base for exploring many of the local walking...
It was a good base for exploring many of the local walking trails. We also drove to Cordoba which was interesting. Our visit to Rute in early December was at a time when many restaurants were shut. The Sugar Museum was worth a visit.JohnIreland - 4.0Scored 4.0
Attractive Spanish townhouses when viewed from street level.
Attractive Spanish townhouses when viewed from street level. Difficult to walk around the narrow, steeply sloping streets with very narrow pavements which can be hazardous when wet (especially if you are elderly). Basic standards for cafes and restaurants. Limited provisions for supermarkets. English speaking virtually non-existent.

I love it, its a proper Spanish working town.
I love it, its a proper Spanish working town. No tourist prices but really friendly, smack bang in the middle of Andalucia, so perfect for exploring the big cities or just walking, there is a donkey sanctuary in the forest too.. Obviously a big draw is lake iznajar.. Gorgeous

The owner and her daughter met us to hand over keys but they made this very easy for us. The balcony has lovely views and lots of sunshine and the flat has everything you need for a stay and is very modern, If we are in the area again we would definitely stay again. Underfloor heating was a bonus for winter stays.
