The lady who greeted us on reception was lovely. Professional and fun and with a sense of humour. We were made to feel very welcome despite only staying for one night. The hotel location was excellent as was the parking.

We had a good stay. The room could have done with an update. Was rather minimalist and TV didn't work (although the TV was not our main concern). As the room overlooks the neighbours (very close) it would have been nice to have netting on the windows. Breakfast was ok.

We booked a double room and got exactly as booked. It faced the city, had lovely large windows which let in loads of light but also great curtains that blocked the light so you could sleep. It was lovely to have a kettle and a fridge and the bathroom was clean and a nice size. The hotel was well placed in the city and easy to access everything. The parking although separate was an easy walk and secure. Metz was a joy to visit and the hotel felt safe and welcoming.

Beautiful city to walk around in. Extraordinary cathedral if you are into architecture; Centre Pompidou-Metz is also superb from the perspective of architecture. Also: very extensive archaeology museum if you are into that. And there are great restaurants. Not too touristy (too far for day trips from Paris, in contrast to Reims). I did have a problem with the housing; best to avoid "rock-in-share" listings (I was charged for two nights, and also charged a "cleaning" fee, but was never able to pick up the key or enter the place).

Metz is an interesting city.
Metz is an interesting city. We hope to spend more time there, walking by the rivers and canals. Metz can't be blamed for bad weather. We just chose the wrong time of year for our trip. We now have maps and a guide to the city and hope to return. Due to the winding streets it can be difficult to find oone's way around but that can lead to interesting discoveries.

There was so much to see and do and we could have easily spent 3 days exploring the city but instead had only a day and a half.
The electric buses in the centre (which look like trams) are free and easy to use.
Everything in the centre is within walking distance.
It also has a two Indoor shopping centre - the Muse just outside of the centre is by far the nicer of the two.
The train station is absolutely stunning and was built for Kaiser Wilhelm 2 and is he had apartments there.
The people are friendly, food is reasonably priced and the sights are stunning.

A really beautiful city, during the day and in the evening.
A really beautiful city, during the day and in the evening.
When you go a little bit out of the centre, you'll see other restaurants which are marvelous.
A visit to the cathedral is actualy a must.
the place is located closed to park so it was very nice to walk through it to reach the centre of Metz. the host left a lot of tips about what to visit and what to do in Metz. the room was very well equipped (hairdryer, pots and pans, washing machine, kitchenette, little oven and microwaves). In the room we found shampoo, body lotion and 4 towels. The room also had products for cleaning, which was fantastic considering that we were there for almost a week.
We know this hotel from times it was called Grand Hotel de Metz . We were there several times starting 2012. But such incredible face-lift of hotel under Mercure name we did not expect- to our positive surprise. It became modern and young, attracting anyone who wants to stay in city centre . Good pricing, perfect time for checking out-12.00, with no rush after breakfast, very polite personnel. We would definitely come back!
The location is good, about 10 minutes' walk from Metz train station and Centre Pompidou-Metz, and about 20-30 minutes' walk to Cathédrale Saint-Etienne de Metz. The room is clean, bright, quiet and comfortable, with new and fully equipped facilities. We were very satisfied with our stay.
Location is excellent. It's located in the city centre and close to all attractions. Swimming pool was nice, especially on hot days when we were there. Also, they have a few nice arcade games in the lobby and a foosball table in the pool area.
Hotel staff were welcoming and friendly.
Hotel was well located and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The receptionist was extremely helpful on my checkout and allowed me to leave my case in the room until midday. The location of the hotel was great for the centre of the city.
Close to the train station, this boutique hotel had friendly staff and clean rooms. Check out at 12 is convenient. So much within walking distance to see. The local pub around the corner was open until 2am. We had a great stay
Everythiing was great. The owners are realy nice and friendly. The hotel is in pedestrian zone, with public garage nearby.
Wifi connection is great. Highly recommend.
If I ever come back to Metz, I'll make sure to stay there.
Location is fantastic for walking into the centre of Metz which is well worth a visit. Secure parking for my motorcycle for €10 meant I could relax knowing it would still be there in the morning.
