We stayed here for 1 night on our way to the South of France. The room was basic but very clean. We had everything we needed. It is in a good position. The people there (the owners, I think) were very pleasant and helpful. I would recommend it.

There was good communication from the start, even though we booked about 2 hours before arrival and we don't speak that much French. The owner was extremely friendly, accommodating and served a wonderful breakfast, even gluten-free bread and cakes (homemade)! Great sauna experience, too.

Hôtel bien dans son ensemble comme nombreux hôtels b&b.
Loved the medieval part of town. A great surprise was the Museum of music - well worth a visit and one of the few places open on a Sunday.
Had a really great lunch at Bistrot Saint Jean - one of the few places open on a Sunday.

Very little to see in Montlucon itself apart from a world-class music museum and a war museum. The old quarter is interesting in passing and facilities for visitors to the town are generally well-considered albeit public toilets are limited. Eating out can be disappointing.

A medium sized walkable city with much to enjoy!
A medium sized walkable city with much to enjoy! The train station is within 4 minutes walk from the city center which offers endless shops, grocery stores like Monoprix, restaurants, places to visit like the chateaux straight from the station and the beautiful river! The cities best attributes are that it is walkable and everything is within reach. The people are kind and not stressed out like many major cities. I enjoyed my stay and will definitely return!

As mentioned our stay was far to short as there were some remarkable things to see, but we did have dinner in the old quarter and there was plenty of restaurants to choose from and there was a vibrant feel around the area

Ok for an overnight stay as location is very good for local restaurants but the bathrooms are very small and a bit sub-standard by today's standards, Staff were very friendly and breakfast selection was excellent although the breakfast room was not the best & rather less than comfortable.
We choose this property for the private parking, as we really don't like to struggle to find a public parking spot or have to carry our luggage for long on the street. The apartment is an old one renovated for short term rental. Nothing extravagant or incredibly fancy, but it's clean and functional. The bedrooms are spacious. You can actually cook using equipment and facilities available, not the rotten broken stuff you often find in such rental places. The city center and supermarkets are also close enough to get there walking.
The hotel is small but very well run, very clean, the host is very friendly and accommodating, we were scheduled to arrive 21.00 but due to delays (in England) never arrived until 22.20. We were still met with a smile and a very welcome evening meal with wine for 20E. A very nice continental breakfast was ready at 7am and served with a smile. We did try to book for our return journey but sorry to say it was fully booked. We will now always try to use this hotel when travelling to Spain (hopefully). Simon and Gill
We loved it! The place has been fully renovated and redecorated by the owners and it looks stunning! The room was lovely, spacious, fully equipped, quiet and comfortable. You can park in the courtyard and the old city is 30 seconds away by foot.
On top of that the owners are very friendly and the breakfast was fresh and varied with a complete offer of local and homemade products.
Definitely a great place to stay if you are in the region.
One website referred to this hotel as "modest"; this is true, but it was perfectly adequate for a one-night stay. It's in a pleasant part of town, which, despite being opposite the station, is quiet at night, The staff were helpful, and gave us useful information about sights and restaurants. Parking on the metered spaces is free from 6.00pm to 9.00am, and there seems to be a small car park at the back of the hotel. Breakfast was fine.
Lynda, the host, is very nice and helpful! I had an impromptu and had to arrive late at 9:30 pm. She waited for me and welcome me with a smile! and kindly offer to organize a quick dinner for me with delicious cold cuts, cheese and cherries from the garden!
A great place with a great host!
The flat was very clean, comfortable and practical for a family. Easy to park in the street.
We liked details like having a bit of basic food (oil, tea...) and tea towel, sponge, cleaning products...
Also we liked visiting medieval Montluçon and the market on Sunday morning.
Well-equipped, nicely decorated and comfortable apartment, it made for a perfect overnight stop in a long drive with the family. Loved the clear and detailed instructions from the host. Would definitely return if passing through Montluçon again!
The bed is comfortable, as is the spacious bathroom. The kitchen is a bit tiny but breakfast can be made using the utensils provided. The host responds quick whenever we had a question. Montluçon has some restaurants in its medieval centre.
This hotel was a lucky find. Far exceeded expectations. Staff could not have been more helpful, tasteful decor, excellent location. Garage parking upon request. Would definitely recommend staying there if visiting Montlucon.
Staying at this Hotel was very good! A great location, room very clean, nice staff and a great breakfast! Stayed here as it's a good half way stay between Caen and Perpignan!
A quiet hotel, slightly tucked away in the town centre. Satnav helps finding it
Comfortable rooms with good a/c
A good restaurant
Small secure off road parking
Breakfast was fine. Hotel undergoing continuing redecoration with builders on-site. Underground secure parking was, for some reason, unavailable. This was disappointing.
Good size room, nicely decorated, well kept and a good price when we visited. Plus the hotel is in a useful location. It’s a shame the negatives outweighed all this.
