Lovely little hotel in quiet Grandtully. We enjoyed the food and stay at this small inn, and walked one afternoon along the river bank to the next town as well as visited (the outside at least - as it was closed until 2 PM) the nearby Menzies Castle.
On the banks of the River Tay, situated at the Grandtully rapids, this family-friendly inn is surrounded by scenic Perthshire countryside.

A treat to return to this fine inn, gloriously situated, for the 3rd or 4th time. Well-appointed spacious family room and excellent dinner in the restaurant - the pies here are some of the best in the UK! Delicious breakfast in the new room with floor to ceiling windows. A good base from which to explore the beautiful Tay Valley and enjoy a visit to the theatre in Pitlochry.
Set on the edge of Tay Forest Park, these modern apartments have under-floor heating throughout. excellent onsite facilities include golf course, bar & brasserie and deli & gift shop.

Fabulous views and beautiful well kept lodges in a beautiful location with everything you need for a self catering holiday. However 4pm check in on Friday and 10am checkout on a Sunday made the weekend feel rushed and spoiled your Saturday night having to get up early the next morning to pack up the lodge and exit for 10am. A later Sunday checkout would have made all the difference

Aberfeldy is on the River Tay and set in beautiful countryside. There are outdoor things to do- farm trips, walks by the river or The Birds of Aberfeldy. In March the roads around are quiet and the views and countryside is so wonderful . For me The Watermill is one of the best individual bookshops anywhere and it has its own wonderful coffee shop. I want to go back .

Very pleasant area of Perthshire - plenty activities, walking, cycling and watersports etc. Not far from Kenmore, Killin, Dunkeld which are all worth a visit. Dochart Falls worth a stop on the way to Killin.
Not a huge amount in Aberfeldy itself, but a good centre. For an evening meal we would recommend the Inn on the Tay at Grandtully which is only 10-15 minutes away - the food and service was excellent, and there's outdoor seating for sunny days, pretty much on the banks of the Tay.

We visit Aberfeldy every year and find it an excellent location to base ourselves and can travel around the area. It has a lovely town centre with a variety of shops and good selection of eating places. It is easy to walk to places and the highlight for those keen on walking is the Birks of Aberfeldy with stunning views.
The Watermill in the centre of the town is a beautiful building and now a book store with cafe and well worth a visit.
There is a cinema too in town with a cafe.
It is easy to drive to Kenmore, Pitlochry and Blair Atholl when based in Aberfeldy.
Karelia House is a craft store selling fabric and wool with a small cafe and based between Kenmore and Aberfeldy and worth a trip if you like sewing/knitting.
Moness Hotel in Aberfeldy has a spa and small swimming pool and easy to walk to from the town centre.
Near Aberfeldy is Grandtully with great views of the river. There is the highland chocolatier shop here too which has a lovely gift shop, a cafe and of course a selection of delicious chocolates.
The Townhouse in Aberfeldy is a great place to stay and eat. Also visited the Waterfront restaurant in Kenmore which was excellent.

Aberfeldy is a nice, small town.
Aberfeldy is a nice, small town. There are plenty of places to eat (good meals for our taste) and there was plenty of choice including an Iranian/Mediterranean cuisine restaurant and a good Italian one.
There is also a wonderful Bookshop (The Watermill) with a very nice cafe attached.
There is a great variety of attractions to visit in the area - wonderful scenery and woodlands for instance. Also a swimming in the local Community Hub/school.
One particularly good (and famous) local attraction is The Birks of Aberfeldy. There are also so many places of interest to visit, a little further afield. People here appear friendly and helpful. One particular mention to be made, is of schoolchildren who offered to help immediately, after I (Janet) had fallen in the town.

Aberfeldy is a small city and is easily walkable.
Aberfeldy is a small city and is easily walkable. We got our lunch to go from the local co-op and sat on a bench next to the river to eat. It's springtime and daffodils are in bloom everywhere. There is an excellent bakery and a good Indian restaurant (Chillies) in town.
The views and hot tub was the highlight and private and quiet. Location perfect, close enough to aberfeldy that you could walk it easily and places to see not to far away ie 7 mile to Kenmore,10 mins from highland safaris and there's a stunning waterfall birks of aberfeldy a little strenuous but worth it. Found something to do every day mainly waterfalls. Owners are friendly and informative of the area. Very clean. Loved our stay here.
Absolutely lovely spot. It had everything I needed and was close to everything but tucked back so it was quiet. The outdoor seating area by the burn was a special treat in the mornings. The flat was modern and comfortable and impeccably clean. A little tricky to find at first as it is around the far side of the building, but the friendly locals helped me out.
Based 8 miles outside nearest town 20 min drive or 3.5 hour walk - a fact
Town of Aberfeldy has 3 bar restaurants (nothing special) & a co op
It does have satellite TV which I mean should be standard but surprised it had this feature along with electronic appliances that did the job
View of the lake was peaceful in main lobby
This is a charming upmarket guest house/hotel in a stunning location, based on a very nice restaurant. Facilities were inevitably slightly curtailed due to Covid-19 restrictions (e.g. lounge not open), but we enjoyed everything about our stay. The staff were, without exception, delightful, friendly and efficient.
We were made to feel special, with my daughter's fussy eating resulting in a special breakfast for her. The staff were attentive and the small dining room gave a very personalised feeling.
The hotel is on the main road through to Aberfeldy, but is set well back in the farm leading to a quiet and relaxed feel.
This wee little pod has it all! It is very cosy, warm (underfloor heating!). Good bed, good shower, surprisingly complete kitchen. The hot tub is an amazing treat after a day of exploring the hills around Aberfeldy.
The views are superb, and waking up to the sounds of sheep and lambs is fantastic.
Lovely, homely, little holiday cottage. Nice spacious kitchen/dining area. Great walking access to Grandtully along the River Tay (and Aberfeldy if you fancy a longer stroll) and only a two minute drive from local amentities and restaurants. The hosts were super helpful and friendly.
The Schiehallion is located near the town centre and very close to local shops and other facilities Our room was spacious clean and well appointed and very comfortable. We have been previously and would stay again if we plan to visit the area!
Lovely small hotel in the heart of Aberfeldy. Staff were really friendly. Bedroom clean and comfortable. Highlight was the breakfast with full choices for everyone including vegan, vegetarian and gluten free. Absolutely delicious!
Lovely atmosphere with amazing staff attention. The staff were so helpful from the moment we booked and throughout our stay. Was the most dog friendly hotel we have ever stayed in - Thank you and we will be back!
We have been going to this hotel regularly for over 25 years as we very much like Aberfeldy and the area. We stayed in a self catering cottage for the first time. It was warm and spacious.
The owners were kind, offered advice about local attractions and places to eat. The room was in excellent condition and the breakfast was delicious. I definitely recommend Balnearn House!
parking off the street, breakfast choices, as well as dinner. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time visiting Aberfeldy again and likely will return in 3 years.
beautiful location, convenient dining option within the hotel, friendly host, sitting area within the room, breakfast included with the room, modern bathroom
The room was lovely and the hotel overall clean and nicely decorated, as well as all the staff from the cleaners to bar staff made you feel really welcome.
Room clean and single bed fine. Central location in Aberfeldy with office street parking. Close to the hills. No amenities at hotel but plenty close by.
