Anne is such a lovely lady and even offered to drop us off in the village
The property is in a beautiful place maybe just a bit too far from the village but we did walk down once and a lovely lady from the pub dropped us back to Anne’s house.
Would definitely recommend and we would stay again if we come back to Fort Augustus.

Very nice spot for an overnight stay. Breakfast and evening meal were delicious. Wide choice of items for breakfast. Beautiful bedroom and very quiet (at back and away from main road - ditto other rooms). Welcoming hosts.

We didn't get to stay very long in Fort Augustus, but very much enjoyed the time we were able to spend. It's in a lovely area and was very walkable, near to lots of great places to visit within short driving distance. There was lots of shopping, but affordable restaurant options seemed more limited--everything closed very early. After dark, everything shut down and it was very quiet, which was great for peaceful sleep. I organize group travel and would consider staying longer with a group for future trips.

Lovely area, right on the end of Loch Ness with terrific views. The Canal Locks are great to watch in operation, with all types of boats going through. Good restaurants and nice pub along the canal. Good central place to visit other areas, Inverness, Mallaig and Fort William.

Situated at the end of Loch Ness with a steep set of locks which form the start of the Caledonian Canal, Fort Augustus is a must visit destination if you are in the area. There is a good sized car park and an excellent choice of places to eat. We had an excellent meal at the Chinese restaurant. Lots of opportunities for boat trips along the loch and some nice shops for souvenirs.

We stayed here only one night whilst doing the Great Glen Way although it seemed like a beautiful place and there seemed to be many other things to do in the area. Lots of options for dinner (compared with other towns along the way).

Fort Augustus is a great spot to attractions in the area and easy drive for location upto 2hours away, like Glencoe, Fort William, Glenfinnin Viaduct, Aviemore ski fields, Urquart Castle, Inverness, Skye. Cruising or walk along Loch Ness are brilliant.
The town is gorgeous with many good eateries within walking distance or a short drive away.
Locals are friendly, inviting and engaging. I would live there if I could!

Didn't see much of Fort Augustus really.
Didn't see much of Fort Augustus really. Walked around a bit in the evening when we arrived. Only there for 2 days and used as a base for trips around Loch Ness - Urquart Castle, Culloden Battlefield. Which were all great.
Arrived on a Friday night after 8pm in early November. Only places still serving food were a very expensive Chinese restaurant in a hotel and a place called The Moorings which appeared to be a kebab shop that dabbled in everything else. Unfortunately, they should stick to one thing and really try to nail that. We ordered the worst eat out Pizzas we've ever eaten - worse than home brand supermarket frozen and they were very expensive - £15+ each. Even the local chip shop was closed, at 8.30pm on a Friday! OK, we didn't come for the late night fast food. Bring your own or eat a good lunch.
Affordable apartment in Hogwarts-style resort; the amenities are wonderful for families with an indoor swimming pool (must pre-book a time), ping-pong, billiards, board games etc and the ability for archery, ax-throwing and knife-throwing right on Loch Ness. The apartment gave us the option to cook our own meals after driving long distances and eating out during our 10-day trip. It is a great launching site to other places in the Highlands and our family really enjoyed it!
We stayed in a family glamping pod (no 1), it was clean, comfortable and had a nice seating area outdoors if you had the weather. The location of the resort is ideal, just a short walk into Fort Augustus where you can find the cafes and restaurants etc. The Loch Ness cruise is also there to allow you to explore Loch Ness further. You can also find nice walks along the canal. Staff at the resort were friendly and welcoming. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
Beautiful property, spacious enough for a good sized family. Excellent location, unique property, and fantastic amenities. Plenty to do even in the winter time. The indoor heated pool was a family favorite. Easy walk to get groceries and enjoy Fort Augustus, and it’s a great starting point for day trips around Loch Ness, down south to Glencoe, and further west to Isle of Skye. Loved the claw foot tub and heated towel holders!
The property is situated in a prime location right on the loch ness! It’s a short walk away from Fort Augustus. Our hosts Osh and Ash were so lovely and helpful. We could not fault our stay, we were even able to canoe on the loch and the scenery is just breath taking. Such a magical place and great value for money, you get what you pay for, it was fantastic! We look forward to coming back again!
Great Location for visiting Loch Ness, Fort Augustus is an ideal base for touring the area.
Kettle House is set in delightful grounds, which were lovely to explore even in the rain.
A comfortable bed in a charming room made for a restful night. Breakfast choices were extensive and food tasty. Natalie was welcoming, a charming host.
All Covid precautions made for a safe enjoyable stay.
This hostel offers excellent private bedrooms. Both the room and the bathroom were spacious, and we had a nice garden outlook. The breakfast was varied and enjoyable. Staff were friendly and the wifi was generally good. Cafes and restaurants were about 10 mins' walk away. There was parking at the lodge.
The pod was clean and cosy and the park is in a brilliant location just a few minutes walk from the centre of Fort Augustus. The staff were very friendly on arrival and showed us to our pod and made sure we had all the information we needed. We will definitely be back!
Lovely friendly accomodation. Very pleasant double room with and en suite. - hotel standard facilities bit friendlier. Set in Fort Augustus which is pleasant with lots to do, lovely views and great walking and cycling. Accomodation for our bikes too!
The location is good, right in the heart of Fort Augustus. The bus station is in front the Guest House. It is a 5min walk to the viewpoint to see Loch Ness. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was complimentary breakfast, which was nice.
Quiet location just out of Fort Augustus. Beautiful landscape, deer around the house and a rural atmosphere.
Spacious kitchen and living room. Comfortable shower. If the weather had been warmer, we would have made use of the sitting area outside.
Restaurant staff were very friendly and informative.
Taster menu was interesting for me; not quite up to my wife's satisfaction.
Location of Fort Augustus was fine for access to Loch Ness, Isle of Skye and then down West Coast via Oban.
Loch Ness is a marvelous location and the Highlands Club used to be really good, however maintenance and administration are horrible at the moment and are running the place to the ground. Will find someplace else for my next stay.
Perfect spot. Fort Augustus is right on Canal by Loch Ness. Load of cafes & restaurants. Location excellent & could watch canal operations from Balcony. Great room size for 4 & spacious bathroom - will defo be back
well appointed, supper clean large property with amazing view of the Loch Ness. everything was well taken care of and provided for. Definitely going back again soon.
The location was good, a reasonable walking distance into Fort Augustus. The room was a decent size, the bedding was fairly cheap and the towels were really small.
Really good place...... The shower was as good as anything in a 5 star hotel . Breakfast was very good too. Good location, on the edge of lovely Fort Augustus.
