Good enough for a short stay but totally in the wrong place for the purpose of our visit. I thought that I had booked the Holiday Inn near the conference centre. Instead we only stayed for two of the three that I booked . How this happened I can only think that it was an unexplained booking error by Booking.com.
We were not the only people lodged
Eight miles from we had expected to be.

Cosy little room, ideal for what we needed for one night. Loved the little lights around the walls, ideal at night time as it wasn't completely dark and didn't need a brighter light left on for my son. Comfortable beds, clean, no complaints.

Ideally located for attending the ICC, albeit that the walk is up hill. Ample free parking. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Large comfortable bar area. Nice pillows. Comfortable bed. Good, all day menu.

I never imagined a major town in South Wales could be so run down. I checked out of the accomodation a day early and found myself in the High Street around 0830. I had an hour or so here before my train out of town and I saw nothing of interest to a visitor.

First time in Wales for me.
First time in Wales for me. Everywhere we went met with friendly people. Even the girl in Next chatted while serving me and laughed with me about my day.Family meal (14 of us) at TGF. Made welcome and served with a smile all evening.
Coffee shops also had staff interested in our stories.
Pity we live in Perth with 8 hour drive as liked people and places and a return trip maybe when newlyweds have family

The room was good, the pool was out of commission which spoiled the weekend because that made the jacuzzi impossible to gain entrance to due to the amount of people being let down on the pool. Food was perfect.

We walked in to Maindee for a meal on Sat evening, expecting a better selection than we found....but an interesting Caribbean Restaurant ( a bit more like a cafe really) but the food was OK and freshly prepared and the price was reasonable

There is a lot to like about Newport and the surrounding countryside. My favourite feature is without doubt the famous 'Transporter Bridge'. You have the choice of numerous venues for both Rugby and Football matches and a great selection of local Parkruns.

There are many places to eat in Newport, there is also lots of shops and local bars with live music. It is close to Newport football stadium. It also has a little castle near the train station.
The new Newport market is a great addition to Newport, it had lots of small shops and a variety of different restaurants which you can order on the app and get it served to your table.
We’ve stayed here on a few occasions when business leads us to South Wales.
The resort is certainly impressive and we love the large scale of everything, the bar with pianist, the clubhouse restaurant and the sports bar (when open) all add to the stop over experience not offered by other corporate hotels.
Breakfast is as comprehensive as you will find anywhere and is worth enjoying.
Bedrooms in my experience (other day different) have been great and Elemis toiletries are a treat.
I was upgraded to a Deluxe Double for £10 so that I could check in early. The room was massive and with all amenities . Staff were really friendly and listened to everything we needed including ordering a taxi.
Breakfast was excellent and the bar area including music was very good. We were going to the 6 Nations - Wales vs Scotland and the hotel had certainly geared up with Welsh flags , hats etc
This hotel is in a good location, 5-10 minute walk from the town centre. We had to stand outside and call a number for someone to come check us in (luckily it wasn't raining) then our actual room was 4 doors down the road. The room was a good size, clean and quiet. There was an iron, ironing board and hairdryer which were useful little extras. The shower is amazing, really powerful!
Everything. We had a late check-in as we had a function, reception was inviting, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Rooms are spacious, and we were lucky enough to have a fantastic view, room 14/10. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was fantastic, lovely room. Good sized TV and the newport pictures around the hotel and mugs in the room are a nice touch.
Staff were lovely and helpful. Might need to do some local advertisement in regard to the hotel as anytime we mentioned where we were staying, no one was aware of the hotel (it used to be Yates then Premier Inn I think), especially taxi drivers - one Taxi driver mentioned he wasn't aware the hotel existed till 2 weeks ago. Another taxi driver didn't hear of it.
Everything. The rooms are really spacious, modern and clean. The bed super comfortable. Staff very friendly and location near to Newport and other hot spots in Wales. There's a pub (Dragonfly) just around the corner from the hotel which serves amazing food. All in all a great hotel. I would not hesitate to stay again or recommend to a friend.
To say this house is value for money would be a understatement. Spotlessly clean and a gorgeous spacious house. It worked out cheaper for us and 2 friends than a hotel and we definitely will stay again when we are in the area next.
We were even left some milk and bread etc by the hosts which we weren't expecting.. Thanks for a great stay..
position near newport, ease of finding the hotel, very quiet position, convenient disabled parking, helpfull staff.
We have have stayed at Ibis hotels in this country, and on the continent, and have always been satisfied.Thank you.
From the time arrived I was impressed, the staff were excellent and so friendly, a great room, and the Food was the best I have had in quite a while.
I Can only recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a really top class place to stay in Newport.
Really lovely hotel and amazing value for money. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choices. Location is brilliant.. Just a short drive to Newport. Highly recommend.
Hotel was very comfortable and had everything you needed for a short stay. Room and bathroom had plenty of space. Amenities were available for guests and the staff was super friendly.
Staff were impeccable especially the lovely guy who we saw for breakfast. He sorted us a table straight away and made us and my young son feel so very welcome! Credit to the hotel.
There was no food to like, as Wetherspoons below was shut and hotel being taken over.
Beds & quilts clean & comfy & location near to centre of Newport.
