Crowne Plaza Basingstoke, an IHG Hotel, hotel in Odiham

Just 1.4 miles from the town centre, Crowne Plaza Basingstoke has a gym and a carvery restaurant. Access to the M3 is just 1 mile away.

The location was well situated near the motorway but not so close that noise pollution invaded the room and created difficulty sleeping or any other discomfort. Only a short walk to Basingstoke town centre for breakfast, lunch and dinner and also to have a look around the town and shopping centre. The room was larger than expected, very modern, nicely decorated and clean. The bar area on the ground floor was well decorated, clean, the staff were really nice and helpful and the whole hotel had a really nice atmosphere.

Since I grew up in Odiham it brought back memories of being in the quaint little village of Odiham the village itself doesn’t off absolutely everything you would need during a little staycation however Basingstoke is only 15 minutes up the road and does have pretty much everything you would require. I do highly recommend a walk to the Canal it is absolutely beautiful and with the sunshine it’s quite the sight you simply cannot go wrong!

Take a stroll down the lane to the canal where you can take a boat trip or have a drink in the pub garden. If you're up for a walk then follow the canal path to Odiham castle and loop back around into the village. There's some beautiful corn fields behind the church that are also worth a stroll though. After all that walking there's a great selection of restaurants, pubs and cafes for re-fuelling, plus a couple of lovely antique shops.

The staff were amazing and accommodating. I thought we would get two rooms next to each other but on seeing that they were on opposite sides of the hotel I asked if the manager would be able to move us all into one room. The manager was very happy to help and cancelled our booking on the second room. The main bed was so comfortable and the linen fresh and clean. The dinner was superb, staff professional and courteous and always willing to assist. The breakfast the next day was delicious. Such a fabulous place.

Easy to find with ample safe parking. Check in quick and easy. Professional, friendly staff very welcoming. As for the food absolutely outstanding, I have even booked an extra night there instead of moving hotels closer to my next destination because I want to eat there again. I would highly recommend this hotel and even if you are not staying here but in the area I would definitely recommend eating there.

Location was excellent I grew up in Odiham and it brought back so many memories coming back and it’s still as beautiful as I remember. The Red Lion had very friendly staff and were incredibly helpful and welcoming. I would say If you are tall be prepared to duck under some beams. The hotel is very old with quirks you would expect, steep stairs and uneven floors, that add to its charm. Our room (Oriana) was well decorated and clean , with a large bathroom and a comfortable ( if a little firm) bed. There was great attention to detail with excellent toiletries, fresh milk for tea and coffee in individual mini milk bottles.

The property had been very nicely furnished and is an excellent location in the middle of lovely village of Odiham. It was also very quiet despite its central location. The owner was extremely helpful and responsive. The parking could not have been more convenient. We would be very happy to stay hear again. The bathroom was very nice.
