I only spent one night in Portree so my judgement is limited. Even before the tourist season started, it was quite crowded. I can’t imagine what it must be like at the height of the season. Skye is lovely but expensive compared to other locations in Scotland.

Skyelight Apartment is at a great location, very near to Portree town centre, maybe 1-minute walk. Nicely furnished, warm and cozy. Note though there is no washing machine. Otherwise, a wonderful accommodation.

Very touristy not quite what we’d expected restaurants we sampled not as good as on the highlands NC500 so for us I wouldn’t do Skye in favour of the Highlands I’d spend longer on the NC500 west side.

Host Margaret is great. We were getting a bit late for our booked tour activity in the breakfast table, and she dropped us in the town. So gentle and welcoming woman. The property is maintained exceptionally well. Good breakfast with fantastic view of Old man of Storr. Note: For people using public transport, Portree is 22 mins walk filled with nice views. For arriving, there is a bus stop named Isle of Skye Candles visitor center (stop before Portree square). That stop is mere 5-6 mins walk from the property.

Staff are so friendly always smiling ,happy to help and very welcoming. Food downstairs in The Antlers Restaurant is lovely and helpings are good too .Right in the central square of Portree with shops ,chemist ,pubs, cafes ,coffee shops, post office local buses, tour buses ,taxis etc just right out the front door of the hotel or a few minutes walk If you. *Advise you to reserve your Dinner Table when making your booking .The restaurant is popular with Islanders and Holiday makers so it can be busy.

The Cuillin Hills Hotel was excellent and gets my full endorsement. The included breakfast was great offering a variety of options and even a "full Scottish" to fuel your highland adventures. The view is quite pretty out over the water and to the mountains, and the staff were all very nice and accommodating. The room was comfortable and very spacious (though were were lucky to get upgraded). I will be happy to stay here again the next time I'm in Portree.

Hotel is central in Portree. Had a beautiful outdoor decked seating area overlooking the harbour. Was a lovely evening to sit and watch the world go by while having a drink. Room looked recently refurbished. Clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly. Thanks to the lady serving our breakfast. We took up her suggestion of visiting Neist Point. A good walk to see the lighthouse. (Not so nice back up the hill. But we were warned) 😁

The location within Portree was incredibly convenient & walkable. The Skye Inn was quaint & cozy and met all of our needs. The full Scottish breakfast was delicious and on site bar was an added bonus! The private parking was close & all rooms are on ground level so no stairs were involved. It was a lovely stay for a 1 night passing through The Isle of Skye!

Everything was wonderful! Amazing lodge with great location. Nigel provided some great snacks, a nice surprise upon arrival. Interior of the lodge is modern and well outfitted. Beds were very comfortable. 4 miles into Portree, 3 miles to Old Man of Storr. Easy access to the entire island. A wonderful base camp for exploring the beauty of Skye.

We were pleasantly surprised with the level of luxury that we felt with the pods! There was a tv, portable heater, personal bathroom and shower, pillows and base sheet on the beds. Only a 5 min drive to Portree. The reception/food area was closed the few days we were there, but there were no problems with checkin.

Very close to Portree and many other activities on Skye. Hosts were very helpful in recommending outdoor activities that we may not have found without their input. Kitchen was well furnished and had all the things we needed to make meals, and on-site laundry was great for getting all our clothes washed mid-trip.
