I entered that house, there is a terrible smell of poo, there are fleas, the heat was turned on only in the morning, the coffee in the envelope expired terribly

The apartment was fantastic. It was so nice to arrive to such a lovely, clean, comfy apartment, we wish we could have stayed for longer. The apartment definitely exceeded our expectations and we would love to go back another time. Thank you Ruth for your brilliant hosting and for making our day off exceptional

Fantastic cottage in the heart of Shepton Mallet. Great owners who are really friendly and make everything easy. Cottage is well equipped and everything you need is in place for a relaxing break. Easy parking and great to have separate entrance to get to cottage. Just a shame the weather was a bit too wet to be able to be outside in the terrace area.

The attention to detail which was demonstrated by many inclusions in the bedroom and en-suite bathroom. The bed linen was really comfortable, light weight and lovely, soft pillows given were a delight.
Breakfast was served so nicely and a very excellent selection of fruit available. I could hardly rate this hospitality accommodation sufficiently higher. Our host Alan should be congratulated on such a lovely place. I would recommend it to any friends and would not hesitate to return. Help with our luggage was also greatly appreciated.
The little walled garden is delightful and very private.

Very spacious modern apartment in a fantastic country pub. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great food and drink in the pub. Much better than staying in some corporate hotel.

Tired old hotel with rooms with peeling paint, broken cupboards and windows and dirty curtains. Had to go up 4 flights of stairs to get to attic room that was being used by the construction staff renovating the spa. Food was limited choice and of porr quality for the money that was being asked and charged. No phone in the room so had to climb up and down 4 flights of stairs to get any service. Issues not addressed and had to check out early, extremely poor hospitality. Do not tale bookings if you cannot provide a basic level of service.

Shelton Mallet seems to be a good representation of smaller, rural communities in Southern England. Beautiful surrounding countryside and closeness to some additional cities of interest such as Wells and Glastonbury. Several good restaurants were recommended by the owners of the inn. Roads in the town can be a bit tight.

It is in a good spot for touring around Dorset etc. Very quiet little town with not much to do. There is a Greek restaurant and a cafe that opens during the day. The Swan is one of the nicest pubs.

The Bath and West ground is literally just a mile away. Local facilities for shopping are also close by. If the weather is good there are beautiful walks and things to do. Where this is, you would definitely need a car to make the most of the surrounding area.

We were in the area for a wedding at Pennard House and stayed for 2 nights.
We loved the character of Maplestone, really authentic and beautifully furnished. Our room was spacious with tasteful decor and high quality bedding.
Lovely fresh cake waiting for us on arrival. Alan was a super host and provided an outstanding breakfast.
Easy walking distance to the town - we had a super meal at Blostins restaurant - definitely recommend. Also close to the Mulberry handbag outlet shop.
Would definitely stay again.
We booked a B & B for our first visit to Shepton Mallet but what we found on arrival far, far exceeded expectations! The room was huge and beautifully furnished in keeping with the lovely old building, and had every facility you would expect in a 5* hotel. The bed was comfortable, the towels plenty big enough and breakfast was superb. Throw in friendly and helpful owners for the perfect stay.
The Breakfast was a Full English / Cereal / a few other bits that were perfect for the morning start. The Staff were the making of the Hotel as they were lovely to talk to and informative about the area. The evening meal was lovely and meant that I did not need to go out of the hotel for a Pint and a good meal. The rear hotel garden is lovely to be in on a nice day.
I had a terrible stay at Montigo Resorts Somerset. The room was dirty, with mould found in multiple places. I found a hair tie with hair still on it, shower head covered in limescale, proving they don’t clean properly. The staff were unhelpful and insisted the room was fine, clearly just spraying Febreze to mask the nasty smell. The whole hotel is extremely rundown.
fantastic little cottage in the gardens of longbridge house. perfect for a relaxing break in the heart of Shepton Mallet. cottage is equipped with everything needed for a self catering break. Gardens outside make for a great view and terrace is a bonus. Nice touches like night lights in property and also provision of milk, tea, coffee and biscuits.
The Oakhill Inn was lovely. We received a really warm welcome from Wayne when we arrived who showed us to our room which spacious and clean. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was excellent. This was repeated in the morning with our breakfast which was included in our stay. We'd definitely return if we're visiting the area again.
Old historic character building with brief history information provided in the guest information book.Ideal for a visit to Shepton Mallet prison. The menu is carefully selected by Tony and the food cooked to order was superb and the bar person was very friendly and welcoming.
Another touch is the fresh milk that is provided for tea and coffee.
This house is huge the pictures don't give it justification. The kitchen and dinning area is ideal it can accommodate plenty of guests. The property owners live at number 1 which is normally off putting but the was very accommodating and only intervened to offer something or Cater for us. I would definitely recommend we had a amazing weekend
Breakfast was great.
Chatted with the chef and his partner the night before. They were lovely.
The room was a bit dated, but very clean. I would have liked some plugs and bed side lights next to the bed, but it didn’t spoil our stay.
If I’m back in the area I will definitely come and stay again.
The staff was so friendly and helped us with places to visit, the water was really nice and warm day and night. Lovely toiletries provided and the food was amazing we plan to visit shepton mallet again and this is definitely where we will stay
Fantastic location to Bruton, The Newt and Frome. Located in a beautiful village. Quiet area. The apartment was very spacious and clean. Loved the added touches, such as complimentary breakfast cereal and scones.
