The room was very basic, but we didn't expect too much for the price. The extremely friendly and gracious staff, and delicious breakfast, made up for the somewhat cramped and old fashioned facilities.
Hotel Europa Olympia is built on the top of Drouvas Hill in Ancient Olympia.

Hotel was very conveniently located in the village of Ancient Olympia; we could easily walk to the ancient site, museums, and restaurants/cafes within minutes. We were also able to park on the street next to the hotel. The hotel had a "homey" feeling. There was a nice spread for breakfast, and the hotel staff made some recommendations for restaurants for dinner. Nice breakfast area. Room had a balcony and a view of the church square.

Obviously, the main reason to visit Olympia is fror the ancient ruins of the Stadium and surrounding artifacts. It is a full day to see everything. We didn't engage the audio guide, as it was a bit complicated with a pre-set-up and download. But I recommend going into the museum to see the model of the area as it was in use to more fully enjoy and identify the ruins. Walking under the arched tunnel into the stadium made the hair on my arms stand up - such an energy.

Olympia was quite a surprise for me.
Olympia was quite a surprise for me.
Considering its a small town it had all you could need.
The ancient archeological site is a must see for anyone interested in history and the museum is great also and a must see as well.
The town is cosy with everything walking distance and at night its something else with restaurants and bars and shops all lit up and vibrant plus wide tree lined streets that make it a pleasure to walk through.
I can definitely recommend it and maybe a stop over on the way to the Ionian islands.
Ohhh forgot to say that one of the nicest restaurants is Taverna Orestis where i had one of the nicest meals iv had in my 9 weeks in Greece i can highly recommend it.

One night stay is enough for visiting the Archeological Site and the Museums. The small the town has only two major streets, one with shady restaurants and the other with shops. You can fint not only the Olimpia museums but a small museum about Archimedes which is really worth to visit.
It is quite a long time to get to Olimpia from the direction of Corinth, but you can choose the slower route across the hills which hides lovely villages.

Small village which is mainly famous for the museum.
Small village which is mainly famous for the museum. Besides this, there was not much of interest around. Therefore, if you are mainly interested in visiting the museum just plan for one night and be on your way.
10 minute drive from Olympia in breathtaking area. Property was beautiful with pool, restaurant and hotel. Pool area balcony was spectacular and all rooms had balconies too. Staff was attentive and Owner on premise, night stayed. Great feature was staying at the facility and eating at the Bacchus Tavern - delicious. Reservations are recommended.
Very clean rooms and comfortable bed and furnishing with a clean and ample bathroom. Pool was refreshing. Breakfast was included in restaurant overlooking grounds.
A lovely hotel. Room was immaculate, comfortable and quiet. Continental breakfast was excellent and filling. Proprietor's stories of carrying the Olympic torch on several occasions during the preliminaries to past Olympics were very interesting. Hotel was walking distance to the ancient Olympia archeological site and museum, and to excellent taverna restaurants.
Good location with walking distance to centre. Parked immediately outside which was a bonus. The host recommended us to a restaurant called Hotel Europa Olympia which in our opinion was exceptional and we had the best food and service experience from dinning out every night in a variety of venues during our 45 day travel in Greece.
The penthouse apartment had a huge terrace. The owner of the place, Damiano, was always around and went above and beyond to smooth any wrinkles. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing. Market and restaurants nearby. Just a short walk from the archeological area. Parking area just outside the hotel.
.The hotel occupies a huge plot of land in a quiet spot just at the border of the town. The historical sites of Olympia is within easy reach. The layout of the hotel is low rise with a large lobby and bar area. Nice pool with large garden. Everything looks bright. The view from our balcony was pure nature.
Amazing place to stay. Our host Costas was amazing and told us about Greek history in Olympia. The hotel is more like an apartment, and 3 blocks to the ancient site and museum. The hotel had every amenity you would want or need. My favorite place to stay in Greece so far
Kostas is the best owner we found in Greece! What an amazing experience he make and what kind and energetic is his way to communicate with guests. The place is quite central, very walkable to ancient Olympia and museums, we even didn’t had to use our car there.
Solid old fashion family run hotel- exactly what we we looking for. Rooms basic but nice. Staff friendly. Good breakfast. Street parking was easy to find. Less then 10 minute walk to ancient site of Olympia. Restaurants and shops less then 5 minute walk away.
Clean and spacious, the hotel was an excellent one night stop near Ancient Olympia.
Fantastic pool for adults and children alike and a gorgeous Taverna garden for a sunset dinner.
Excellent value. Great staff. Lovely food
Ilias, the host responded our questions quickly about the location, parking, Olympia site and driving routes… it is the best location with very reasonable unbeatable price. We feel happy and blessed.
We stayed one night only and it was a perfect location, near ancient site Olympia. The room was clean and big enough. Kitchen was a liitle bit dated but still functional.
Excellent location is short walk from Olympia. Clean hotel room with excellent breakfast the owner it was very nice and recommended a good restaurant next door.
You get the entire house. Large spacious property. Nice rooftop balcony. Located 3 km from ancient Olympia. Much better value than staying in Olympia town.
