Great room, great breakfast, free parking, and great staff. We met people that return year after year. That in itself says it all.

We liked the fact it was away from the main town and within walking distance to Grammeno Beach which is sandy. The local beach is just a few minutes walk away across the road with a lovely cafe/ staff but it's pebble beach but also beautiful. The water is crystal clear.
The breakfast was generous and wonderful and the two ladies who did the breakfast and cleaned our rooms we're so lovely.
The garden is beautiful. People took the breakfast out on a tray and sat under the vine. I enjoyed watching the goats on the rocks behind the house.
There are quite a few restaurants to eat in nearby within walking distance if you didn't fancy driving into Paleochora town including one in the campsite which is nearby.

The place is beautiful, designed and finished to a really high standard. The bed was super comfy, and all the staff that I met were really friendly and accommodating. I love the little touches, like some olive oil, washing up liquid and kitchen roll given to me which meant that I didn't have to buy these items - always an issue of waste when travelling for a short time if you want to cook.
I loved my time here and will definitely be back!

The owner and her trusty cleaner Katarina were wonderful. So friendly and welcoming. The room was adequate. Comfy beds, great shower, a little tight in the kitchen area but I used it mostly for coffee and breakfast. It was the location that I really enjoyed. A 7-8 min walk into town to catch the free shuttle to the beach and situated at the edge of town making the return 4km walk a bit shorter.

If you are looking for a small laid back beach town in Crete, this is a greatchoice. Many of the more full service touristy options are on the north side of the island, Palaiochora is on the south. You can drive from Palaichora to Chania in less than 1.5 hours : drive to Heraklion is closer to 3.5 hours.
Plenty of beaches, good food, good people. Not really a party crowd, at least when we were there at the end of the season. There are many options for boat trips, hiking and outdoor activities. Ebikes and similar are easy to rent.

Lovely relaxed seaside town - really chill atmosphere in the evenings with lots of restaurants along the sea front and in main and back streets serving great food and generous extras (bread, olives, small desserts and raki).
We enjoyed a good balance of some hiking (Aghia Irina Gorge was lovely and very quiet), hiring a car to explore the area and a couple of days of swimming, snorkelling and reading on the beach.
I expect Paleochora is heaving n high season, but in Kate September was wonderfully laid back - a few days here and a few in Chania& Rethymno was a really nice balance.
I would stay right in the town next time - lots of small studios advertised along the road from town to harbour looked nice, quiet and close to everything

Palauochora is lovely low key resort with great food and beaches. We really like the vibe of the town which is authentic and friendly. Highly recommended for 3-4 days or longer. Really like the fact that it can be easily accessed by a very efficient bus and ferry service. We’ll definitely be back

Pretty little town with a chilled vibe but still has some action. Excellent cocktail bar in the middle of town. Amazing sunrises on one side and the most stunning sunsets on the other side.
Sandy beaches for those who like that but rocky beaches on the ither side that offer great snorkelling opportunities.

What a lovely place this is.
What a lovely place this is. It has lots going on in the harbour town. With a very friendly vibe. Soooo many places to eat, either on the harbour front or in the lovely little narrow streets of the town.
The town beach near the harbour is pebbles but across town is a wonderful wide stretch of beach that is lovely and sandy. It did get a bit windy and this makes the sand blow around. So use the edge near the Castel.
The ferry comes into the main harbour , so although we didn't venture that far ypu could take day trips from there. Next time we will🙂
We will revisit- its one of those places that you want to return to.
Super location - practically on the beach! Fantastic host and hostess - Panos and his sister Christina. Turn left or right as you leave the gate if the property and you are within walking distance of so many great restaurants, supermarkets and bakery. On the doorstep to well known gorge and coastal walks. Panos has worked in five star hotels in senior management roles and this experience shines through in the level of service he provides to his guests.
we had a fantastic stay at Irene’s studio, the apartment has new, cute design, there is everything that a 5* hotels have, even make up remover :) location is also perfect if you want to visit Samaria Gorge! you leave the car in Sougia, and take the 7 am bus to the park’s entry. at the end of the day, it will be really nice to find your car there and directly go back home and have a lovely meal in Palaiochora. hope to come back one day! :)
We really liked the 5 nights @ Aris Hotel.
The rooms were always clean & the hotel crew absolutely lovely. The breakfast was the best - also for vegans. Every morning we got fresh orange juice & I was given almond milk for my Müsli. Also the location was good - it was a 5 minute walk to sandy beach and 5 minute walk to the center of Paleochora. Thank you for everything. We‘ll definitely come back. Pia & Thomas
Small comfortable unpretentious hotel right opposite the sandy beach. Room had all the usual amenities and good wifi. Excellent and plentiful breakfast. Helpful staff. Private parking. Five minutes walk across the main street to the other side of the peninsula with pebbly beach, ferries, and most of the restaurants on the ‘promenade’.
At Panoramio apartments hotel, we were totally pleased by our staying there. The room was excellent and spotless, with sea view, in a quiet area of Palaiochora. We found easily a parking place out of the building. The owners were friendly and they had an immediate response when we need them. Totally recommended :)
Very friendly staff, everything looks like new even though it was built in 2008! Very clean!
The breakfast buffet is amazing, to say the least, and it is 2 minutes away from the beach.
After at least 100 hotels, this is one of our favourites!
Will return for more.
The location is excellent, very close to the center of Paleochora and very close to the pachia ammos beach. The studio is very comfortable for a couple, has everything you need and is very clean. The hosts were excellent as well.
It's was right in the centre of Palaiochora.Near the beach.Very close to all the restaurants. The room was cosy and very clean .You can park your car in the streets nearby.
The owner was very kind and helpful.
The location is excelent - easy to explore beaches, gorges and mountains. Accomodation absolutely the best - Maria is helpfull pretty host. If we will come back to Crete, we must visit this place again!
Wonderful proprietor and staff. Comfortable, spacious, clean, well-designed, modern, small apartment.
Ample parking. Quiet. Very close to the beach, grocery stores, restaurants, and a nice bakery.
Beautiful room in excellent position across from the beach. The bed was so comfortable and the shower room was a delight. A lovely, contemporary hotel. Stelios was welcoming and very helpful.
