We loved the view over the roof tops and the partial sea view. The staff were exceptionally friendly and indulged my attempts at Greek for which many thanks! The breakfast was pretty good. We are vegan and it can be hard to cater for us but we didn't go hungry, and we provided our own plant milk. The hotel is very central but also quiet. A wonderful place to stay.

Sitia isn't of itself pretty, but the region that surrounds it is full of treasures from Minoan sites and geological wonders through to highly trekkable gorges and ravishing views. A car is essential and exploring is well worthwhile for the smiles per mile.

Sitia is a small town, not very touristy as it's so far east. You need a car to get to Sitia and it's not an easy drive. However, it's definitely worthwhile making the effort to get there as it's a lovely town with a great beach . There are lots of excellent restaurants overlooking the sea.

If you're looking for a not too touristic, rather quiet place (of course, worth the compulsory beach bars and restaurants area), not too expensive but still nice and with friendly locals, that's your place.
Not much to see/ visit in the city itself (not to say nothing at all) and also not the side of the island with a lot of stuff but I bet if you rent a car and go to Agios Nicolaos or the villages around you'll have a great time. Some stunning views on the way too!

I cannot tell if Sitia beach is good or bad, but on the eastern side of the island 20-30 km-s away there are fantastic beaches for sure.
The view of the town from the east is wonderful.
The stairs inside the town, with cats on them are charming.
The people are kind.
I could rent a car cheap, and travel around. I have seen nice places, for example the Toplou monastery...

Cute city, lovely beaches.
Cute city, lovely beaches. Kalamia beach had great vibes, music, best Greek yogurt.
Very very very steep and narrow roads. If you're not proficient with stick shift, get automatic or don't drive. Very scary to drive.
Otherwise if you are good with walked, great Greek village. Lots of nice restaurants.
Simple.
What a way to start our trip with such a great stay. This was by far the best hotel in Sitia. Its location to the town center was perfect; a 5 minute walk and you're in the historical town. We loved the size of our room; comfortable bed and huge balcony. The facilities are amazing; huge pools and plenty of beds. There is a private beach for visitors of the hotel which was also nice. We were amazed by the selection of food and the variety with the all inclusive rate. Everything we ate was delicious!
A newly renovated small building. Excellent taste in design and wonderful touches throughout the room and the building. The owner is on site and is brilliant, engaging and very friendly and accommodating.
We enjoyed speaking with her while we were eating breakfast. We loved chatting about the area, her family and the renovation of the building.
I absolutely recommend this as THE place to stay while visiting Sitia.
Beautiful suite in the heart of sitia, close to everything including great beach and busy atmospheric harbour. I highly recommend you stay here if you are exploring the east coast we received a true Cretan welcome the hosts were great, much more than we expected. The suite has all you need, all modern cons and more, the best we have been to in Crete in 12 years, built with real pride
Amazing sea view right from the bed, very clean, very friendly host, right on the port and very close to the beach (less than 5 min walk on the Promenade). Excellent tavern right at the bottom of the building : To Limani. Delicious home made cake & raki as welcome gifts. Sitia is a lovely little town and the sea is amazing to swim & has an easy access (sand).
A very nice apartment located on the heights of Sitia, with great views.
It really felt at home: the care of Mary and her brother Kostas to make sure we have everything we needed. A cleaning happens every 2 days, which was the cherry on the cake.
Nice family run Guesthouse on the edge of town overlooking the small Port with views of the arriving and departing ferries. If using the ferry it's a perfect destination.Comfortable, clean, spacious room with nice balcony view.Reasonably priced.
The property is brand new cosy and with modern decoration. It is located right in the heart of Sitia and everything is in walking distance.
It was super clean, and the owner was available and eager to help us with everything we needed.
Property was very spacious and clean with lots of space for us to meet with other couples that we booked with. Room had a lot of hanging space. The hotel is a bit out of town so it was quiet throughout the day
the apartment was clean, bright, and had a lovely view. the kitchen was well stocked, and Manos was very responsive. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to other Sitia travelers.
Location is great, right at the beach and very close to all restaurants. Rooms have sea view and are fully equipped.
Sitia is great for exploring East Crete.
Everyone was super helpful and friendly.
This is the best room in the hotel, the location is great, the view excellent, clean and cozy.
And everyone was so polite, natural and accomodating that we really felt like we are home!
Thank you!
Apartment 1 has wonderful views over the bay and the town of Sitia. Much better location than staying in town. On the right side to access Toplou, Vai and all the sites on the east coast.
Spacious, clean, excellent location that is just enough off beaten path. Safe for running and 1 mile walk to town so
You can burn off the amazing food on the lovely harbor in the town
Ageras breakfast was amazing. Location was walkable to downtown Sitia and the beach. Would stay again and again here! Kitchen and fridge were great as well for cooking.
Location, both proximity to the beach and Sitia town. Attention to detail with provision of all essentials, cleanliness and extremely friendly and helpful hosts.
