All was as we expected. In general the location is great if you expect spending time without any outside annoyances. Beaches with pubs, etc are in walking distance.
Lf Suites - Irene in Thiva provides accommodations with a garden and barbecue facilities. With inner courtyard views, this accommodation provides a balcony.

The cleanest and most comfortable place we stayed at during our two week trip in Greece. The landlord was very friendly and helpful .
Providing free Wifi, private parking, and a garden, the recently renovated property CozyStudio offers rooms in Chalkida, a 4-minute walk from Rodies Beach and 700 yards from Pelagos Beach.

The area is very quiet and peaceful (if a little remote). Having a private pool is great. There is a lovely beach bar run by Kostas in the middle of Skroponeria. Alykes beach (golden sand, umbrellas, sunbeds, iced beers) is about 15minutes. I'd recommend Avantis Winery for great wine tasting and Aegean Seals for a cool 4-hour Scuba experience - both in Chalkida.
Some of the area is yet to be tarmacked so there is about 400m of dirt road before you reach asphalt, and it is steep. Our rental car struggled a bit and kicked up a few stones. However, there are plans to tarmac the area soon.
