We very much enjoyed our stay at Stone House. It was so cozy and charming. Our host left local cheese and wine in the fridge for us, which was delightful. There also was a good selection of coffee and tea. The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare meals. We hope to stay here again soon.

An important ancient city, located on the way between Athens and Pillion. Convenient if you land in the evening and travel north. Nice restaurants and evening life. Amazing historical museum. Don't miss it.

Thebes (Thiva in Greek) is an up and coming town with a larger city feel a lot of history and monuments, pleasant pedestrian ways with many fine shops and restaurants. Downtown Thiva, birthplace of Hercules, is built on top of a defensive hill, due to its very long history, also has open views to the surrounding dry lake valley of Kopais, site of famous medieval battles all very well explained in the fabulous Archaeological museum of the town. Around Thiva a unique number of high middle ages, early Byzantine settlements and monasteries are to be found. Nearby mount Parnon is also a great place to hike across at the ridge.
