Take note of the carpark if driving.
Take note of the carpark if driving. The carpark is a multi storey block behind the hotel. Only available from level 3 onwards. We parked at level 4 and fprtunately there was a lift that brought us to level 3, which is the street level leading to hotel. Hand over the parking slip to hotel upon check in, pay 500Y and they will exchange another slip for you.

I nice city in central Ibaraki.
I nice city in central Ibaraki. Good restaurants and in summer the lake and park are excellent. The stores around the main station are interesting and will appeal to a wide range of people and there are many good hotels near the station.

There are a lot of attractions around or nearby Mito.
There are a lot of attractions around or nearby Mito. The only problem is many of them are difficult to get to. Even the ones that are not too difficult to get can be difficult in terms of distance or a lot of waiting time for buses. Each time to take a bus, you would expect to wait for a least half an hour to 1 hour even for sight-seeing tourist buses. Also, as JR pass would not work for buses, you would expect much higher traffic expenses compared to visiting most of other places in Japan.

I love the park and the lake.
I love the park and the lake. Especially in Spring it is a fantastic places to be. The city does not get the recognition it deserves.
The Art Tower and the associated compound is a great source for modern exhibitions. The Museum of Modern Art is also a great location.
It is very close to the ocean, with great sights to see along the ocean.

Nice place to stay a night at a cheap cost.
Nice place to stay a night at a cheap cost. I mostly visited Oarai and took the bus or the train, but for some roaming around before starting the day it was interesting. There are some spots interesting to see in Mito.

This is a beautiful area of Japan to visit with many beautiful gardens and a variety of things to do. I spent an afternoon at Fukuda Kilns and was able to make some pottery which they will fire and mail home to me. The Shinto shrine on the ocean was beautiful. There was so much more I wanted to see and do that I will have to return and spend a few more days.
The hotel is very close to the train station and the train station has a lot to offer in terms of food and shopping. The hotel staff at the reception were very nice when we and other guests were down there after the earthquake. They offered blankets and I think they would have let us sleep in the lobby if we had chosen to do that. I always like having a kettle and a small refrigerator in the room. The bed was a little softer than the norm which was nice.
A nice quiet stay even though I was there on Halloween. I could hear slight hooting from down below but it was slight and only when I was at the window. My view was of the city towards the lake which is always a nice bonus.
The hotel is in the buildings attached to the station so it's extremely convenient.
Breakfast was a Japanese buffet in a izakaya that is repurposed for breakfast. Plenty of food and quite tasty.
The absolute best thing about this hotel is the location. It's literally a 45 second walk from the Mito train station. The surrounding area has a ton of restaurants and convenience stores so food availability will never be a problem. The staff here is amazing and speak English very well to help out foreign travelers.
Great hotel right in the centre of town.
Room was great, comfortable and quiet.
Buffet breakfast was Japanese style and very tasty.
Staff were great, especially the young lady whose English was better than my Japanese!
I would happily stay again.
The host was extremely kind and welcoming! The hostel is in a good position, not far from Kairakuen, and with many services to spend a nice time at the guest house. It was clean and in good condition. Totally suggested for a stay in Mito
Very near to station, convenient stores and restaurants.
The room is big, clean and comfort. Staffs also very polite and helpful.
Recommended to all to stay in this hotel !!!
It seems like it could have been a good place. There are a few convenient things around and it’s a 10 minute walk from the tokyo-mito highway bus stop.
