Tequis has a "Pueblo Magico" designation, its center is beautiful, like the description said. weekends are busy, weekdays are quiet and more convenient for walking care-free. we stayed there on a weekday and where amazed by the spaces afforded by the openness afforded by the fact that locals were at work and few tourists like us. there were services everywhere. "Tequis" as the locals refer to their city, appear to us as a better choice than Tequila, Jal. or Cholula, Puebla. Its street were clean, shopping, restaurants, architecture, restaurants, hotels etc. are open and welcoming.

There are a lot of places to go sightseeing by yourself, good restaurants in general, but specially there is very good wine, cheese and bread.
Tours to "las minas de ópalo", the Geiser or "Peña de bernal" are memorable.
We didn't like TxTour. It is a 45-min-waste-of-time-money tour around the city center on a small bus. There is a guide whose silly jokes are sometimes a little rude, especially if you are from Mexico City. This tour is a long commercial about the hotels and restaurant in the area, sparked with some bits of historical info.

Charming village, friendly smiling faces all around.
Charming village, friendly smiling faces all around. Perfect for walkers, for foodies and for cheese and wine aficionados.
Recommend staying close to the centre - Posado del Sol is wonderful. Also, for an old-fashioned, personable bar, visit Bar Cheverny - Álvaro is happy to chat away the merry hours.

Tequis is a delightful place.Everything is in walking distance. They have great restaurants which are reasonably priced. The tours are overpriced it would be better to go to the vineyards by yourself or by taxi. The tour by Turis T X is overpriced ($120) they are only interested in taking you to a chocolate and cheese store to get a commision.
Great mid-grade place to stay, not ghetto, not posh, just real nice. The attendant (manager? owner?) was kind and accommodated my late arrival and early departure. I have a bad back so the bed and memory foam pillows were a treat. Hot shower, clean everything, just a good place to stay. It's a bit outside the QRO airport zone so you don't have the prices of those airport hotels, but it's still a quick easy drive to the airport from here. The value is extraordinary.
The pool was amazing, perfect temperature. The room comfortable. Afterwards the rest of the staff was amazing, specially the maintenance and cleaning, much more helpful. It was a very cold day and we didn't feel it, the floors were warm and the place well insolated (an odd thing in Mexico).
There is a small park next to it in whose trees lots of white cranes had nests and they were gorgeous to admire from the pool and the balcony.
The location of the hotel was excellent. The hotel building was a nice space with a lot of potential. The room was uncomfortable and not well designed with the bathroom. It was so cold in the room without extra blankets. It was dark and there wasn't a remote control for the television. There weren't any provisions in the hotel offered such as coffee or water. I felt it was overpriced for the stay overall.
I liked the location, it was very good for walking to the main plaza and with lots of restaurants nearby.
The room was spacious enough and the beds comfortable.
The gardens of the hotel were very nice and there was a nice pool. Around the pool were many tables, chairs and loungers, which were perfect for relaxing in the sun in the afternoon.
The towels were really nice!
Hot shower!
The place owner is really knowledgeable and helps you give incredible recommendations around Tequisquiapan. The hostel is well located, incredibly centric and near everywhere you want to go visit. Even though we didn't go in, pool looked very clean.
The hotel seems to be new, all the facilities are very modern, well taken care of, everything super clean, the rooms are modern decorated, beds are comfortable. The jacuzzi was top, always so nice warm and we were allowed to use it at night.
I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. I literally felt like a movie star because of the attention and care the staff provided. This is a "once-in-a-lifetime" property that, quite honestly, I would like to keep a secret!
The pool was lovely on a hot day. The room was comfortable, but not anything particularly special. The air conditioning was greatly appreciated. It was very quick and easy to get from the hotel to the Wine & Cheese festival.
Friendly staff, clean rooms and facilities. The hotel is easy to reach by car, pretty much at the entrance from Tequisquiapan and the city center is just a few minutes by foot.
The owner attended me very kindly even I arrived late. My room was very spacious with a beautiful patio. Free access to the big kitchen. There’s a mini shop near by.
Night manager was rude and incompetent at check-in. I’ve stayed in this hotel twice and this was the last time. It’s a pitty because the facilities are ok.
