Very nice city many old colonial-time buildings, do not miss the cathedral of senor de tabasco. Great food. It is a big city we used our car to get around and found good and free parking where required.

Villahermosa itself is of minimal interest to tourists - its main value is as a gateway to Palenque. It does however give you a snapshot of a provincial Mexican town, with music playing everywhere amidst the delapidated buildings.

Very good!
Very good! The Papagayo museum and the animal statutes park is a no miss for kids. Just avoid the trompoline there if you don't carry cash its 20 pesos for 15 min. The food park was amazing.
Burgers fresh fries freshly cut and price is affordable. Dont forget to try the Market for traditional menu. Vips is great for breakfast options. Im still overhere havin fund in a different hotel. OYO was the worse place i have ever spent a night in. First time I didn't leave a tip, been traveling for over 12 years..

Villahermosa has many times been a stopping point on several cross country trips. Each time it manages to dissapoint even more than before. Restaurants are constantly closed or if they are open they don't have half the menu, it's relatively dirty in the downtown, overall not a charming place like others in Mexico. The 1 night we stay is usually too long in our opinion.

The city is a bungled mess of weird areas, some shops selling nothing and 60's era malls that have little to nothing to offer. Or are mostly abandoned and only still in business because the supermarket or big box store didn't give up yet.
The exception to this was the Altabrisa Mall, which is modern, good looking, and actually has nice shops.
The zoo (parque la Venta) was nice.

Nice hotel. Clean and spacious.
Nice hotel. Clean and spacious. Parking is limited and closed at night. Breakfast was nice. Personnel failed to accommodate our request for a corkscrew - we needed to open a bottle of wine. Water in the shower was barely warm. "Hot" water was basically the same temp as the cold one.
We booked because of the location. As we only needed to sleep and get back on the road, we didn't want to get into the city itself, so were quite happy with a hotel on the circular highway. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and spacious and the windows were sound-proof enough for us not to have any disturbance from the highway at night. Decent air-conditioning and fairly comfortable beds. Not bad at all for the price we paid.
We stayed twice at this Marriott during our Day of the Dead trip. Very nice hotel with friendly staff and good, included buffet breakfast if you book with a special deal. Across the street from the fun Outdoor Food Truck Court for dinner; great for rubbing elbows with all the locals. Nice pool and close to parks. Easy to get a cab to go marvel at the Olmec heads and Anthropological museum.
There is a lot a hotel can get away with when they have good beds, and this is the case with Viva, as their beds are very comfortable, and they have a good restaurant and a cool bar. I must say, I love this hotel in general as I used to go there when I was a child, and I still believe it has advantages over its neighbours with a reasonable price and a much-needed pool in Villahermosa.
Maja Suites is well located at the Malecon where you can have a nice walk along the river and close to Zona Luz, a lovely historic district and not far from the ADO bus terminal.
The staff and the owner family provided a great hospitality.
I will definitely stay there again when I’m back in Villahermosa.
What a total gem of a place. Absolutely faultless, oozing with elegant eclectic style and the warmest hosts. Delicious breakfast and easily the best place we've stayed in the whole of Mexico. We will be back for sure. Thankyou very much.
A very nice hotel in a good location. The staff was friendly and helpful. A very good value. We had an easy walk to see the Olmec heads and zoo. Highly recommended.
