Breakfast was excellent and well worth paying for in advance. It is in a perfect location just across from the Cathedral. Don't miss going to Los Dorados de Villa. Their specialties are pozole verde and enchiladas. The town is beautiful and despite activities of the cartel in the outside ranches, that does not effect the town. The parking was excellent, underground, safe and a guard is present 24 hours per day. It only costs $3.50 US for valet. The staff are really nice and look after you.

Zacatecas in many ways resembles Paris, France. The beautiful Baroque architecture is stunning. The cathedrals and public parks are its crown jewels. There are numerous museums, restaurants, Shops and markets. Be sure not to miss mine tour at El Edan. After touring the mine, take the cable car that goes from the mines exit to the top of the mountain at La Bufa for a stunning view of the city.

Walk the city to explore all the wonderful plazas!
Walk the city to explore all the wonderful plazas! Rafael Coronel Museum of 10,000 masks is one of a kind! Cafe Dali - delicious coffee and upstairs balconies with a view of the beautifully renovated mercado across the street. At night, join a "callejoneada" where a 6 member band walks through neighborhoods and anyone who wishes can follow along dancing and singing. It's a blast! The Leyenda Tour (in Spanish) on the double decker bus was incredible! The one we took began with a short ride around the historic center, then ended up in a small theater. Three actors masterfully told the legends of the Black Chorro, the cathedral bell tower and aqueduct. Humor and mystery are used to make this a VERY fun experience!!!!
If you can visit during the month of December, the historic center will be beautifully decorated for Christmas. . . Lights and huge ornaments are strung up across the streets and roofs, bows and garlands decorate every balcony and store window. The area just outside of Hotel Emporio had little cottages set up and a mammoth 8 story Christmas tree (artificial). We saw the beginnings of the city decorations but sadly had to leave before everything was set up.

Zacatecas is a beautiful historic city over 536 years old, I plan to stay there every Christmas from this point forward. The people were friendly, the family atmosphere was amazing, and the food vendors were happy friendly, and gracious.

It is a beautiful city with gorgeous architecture and friendly people. Lots to see and do! I highly recommend the city tour, tour of La Bufa & the mine. So many great museums, parks, and cathedrals to visit!

This Hotel is a modern day Riad. First built by the Romans, borrowed by the Moors. Stolen by the Spanish and brought to Mexico. From the terrace to the small water fall( not a fountain) The rooms are huge with there inward facing balconies. Spotlessly clean. When you combine the design with the fact there is an aqueduct 500 metres away. Personally I find it a very special place to stay.
A beautiful Historic building that is over 1000 years old. The decor and staff are amazing and the breakfast located in the 3rd floor which is their restaurant and rooftop. I will like to stay again but will avoid spending the night in room 212 if you are a couple that wants some comfortable romance at night. But worth experiencing the stay in this hotel especially for the price.
The hotel's homeland location is definitely a plus, along with the cool rooftop offering a fantastic view. The hotel has a small parking area in front, although street parking might be a bit tricky. The interior of the hotel is amazing; the rooms are very spacious and beautifully decorated, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The Wi-Fi is excellent.
As a single woman traveling alone, I felt very safe in this hotel. The location was very secure. Additionally, the room (and hotel as a whole) were exceptionally clean. The staff was courteous, helpful, and professional. Having wifi and parking included for no additional cost was also a plus! Overall, exceptional experience.
Very nice hotel in the lovely colonial building. Some rooms have windows, some don't so try to get the more specious ones with windows, much better! The location is great, couple of minutes from the main plaza and beautiful cathedral. Many shops and restaurants around.
The best location for a hotel in the city center of Zacatecas… Great breakfast with very fresh food on the buffet and beverages. Clean room and bathroom, super comfortable bed. Will recommend it to everyone without even a second thought
Size of room, bed, furnishings, all very good. Difficult to fin though. google maps takes you to the wrong side of the hotel and downtown Zacatecas is difficult to navigate. They had to come and find us and drove us there.
The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff were attentive and the room was cleaned daily and well supplied with soap, towels, etc. The hotel is situated within walking distance of all the major attractions in the city.
The hotel was downtown, very close to the catedral and walking distance to everything. There are a lot of restaurants near by. If you manage to find parking it is free for the entire day and evening.
The hotel has nice appearance and is located in a convenient place close to downtown. Staff is nice and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable although working at the desk was not too good.
second time visiting Zacatecas, I did not hesitated on reserving in the same hotel, location is super convenient and the street is not as narrow as most of the streets.
- great value for the money
- close to everything downtown
- check-in at any time ( we came after 12 a.m.)
- friendly staff
- reception has someone 24/7 to assist you
