The accommodation was very well presented and the staff at this hotel are exceptionally helpful and friendly. It's a pleasantly informal service but extremely efficient; a difficult balance to achieve and this hotel does that.
Grand Hotel Beatrix is a charming 4-star hotel in the old seaside resort of Huisduinen. Explore the area and withdraw from busy life in the wellness area. Benefit from a free breakfast and free Wi-Fi....

Very nice location, great and helpful staff, nice restaurant (we only have been to Meat Bistro, and they do have vegetarian options!). Great that we could rented bikes. Beds very comfortable! Pool and saunas were a nice addition.
Hotel Wienerhof is a family hotel providing basic accommodation close to the coastline. Sit out on the terrace when weather is nice and experience traditional hospitality and a friendly service.
The Baron Crown, situated in Den Helder a 15-minute walk from the beach, offers free Wi-Fi. The elegant rooms have a seating area with a flat-screen TV.

The surroundings were nice and green. The big windows of the dining room. Th bowling alley. A spacious room.
Bosch Duin offers bright studios just 1 km from Den Helder’s coast. Free Wi-fi and newspapers are available to all guests. Bosch Duin is a 10-minute drive from the centre of Den Helder.
I liked the part of the city I managed to see. The reason I came, was because of the Tall Ship Race, so there were a lot of visitors and much of my time was spent related to the Tall Ship Race. I would like to come back to visit when it's a bit more quiet to see the town and surrounding areas.

The city is not as beautiful as the rest of the Netherlands, but it is a port city, probably because of that. It is worth staying here because you can easily get to Texel by ferry from here. Our accommodation was not in the city center, but close to the forest and the sea, in a perfect location for nature lovers. It’s worth checking out the Navy Museum (Marine Museum), not all of which were equally interesting, but the submarine, the ships, the mock-ups and some of the paintings are very special.

Just a business trip to the Marine Base for a couple of days. Luckily we saw the Lighting Festival here in Den Helder which was AMAZING. Cosy town but nothing special. Visit the restaurants near the West Street / Navy museum!

Amazing city in North of Holland.
Amazing city in North of Holland.
Super nice for a week-end getaway (although too short in my opinion) or a week vacation. Tons to do: bike rides, markets, beaches, walks in the dune. A lot of nice restaurants.
A lot of tourists in the summer though. Would recommend off season.

Totally underrated.
Totally underrated. It has such bad reputation, but I would strongly recommend that if you want to visit Texel, better stay in den Helder. Less touristy, incredibly friendly people and a great place to eat out.

This is a bucolic seaside town with a lot of history and personality. There was much more to see than we had time to do. It has the top-rated library in the world, in a beautifully restored old building.
Property was easy to find with Google Maps, it is in a quiet residential neighbourhood. Great Continental breakfast. There is no evening meal but there are two excellent restaurants within 10 mins walk which were pointed out by the Hotel staff. My room was excellent with plenty of space and mini bar. The bathroom was very clean as was the rest of the hotel. If I have work in this area again this will be my go to place. I really enjoyed my stay
The bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly, especially the guys at breakfast. I was staying with my three year old and they were very sweet to her. I'd say the hotel was fine and I'd definitely stay again for a cheaper price. Excellent location for quiet walks on the beach, and beautiful sunsets. But... For the price we paid (almost 200 euro) it wasn't really anything special. Just totally fine.
The very definition of what ‘gezellig’ means. Nicely situated in a calm neighborhood overlooking de Lange Jaap( a local landmark lighthouse).
Modest but tastefully furnished room with a very warm, friendly and helpful host and an adorable dog.
Much better short stay solution than those hugely overpriced, substandard hotels Den Helder has to offer.
I’ll surely be back and soon, propably.
Olga is super sweet and sociable, it was a real delight to talk to her and get advices for Den Helder. Olga also left some food and drinks on my fridge as I arrived after midnight. The care Olga has with her guests, as her sympathy, are priceless! The cottage is super confortable, fully equiped and confortable, decorated with great taste. I totally reccommend staying over :D
Big and good breakfast in the room. The room is very big. The best is the place: not far from the the beach (500 m) and not far from the town (6 km). Supermarkets are 4-6 km from the hotel and in 4 km is small nice village Julianadorp. You can oder bycicles a day before and they will be delivered in the hotel.
The hotel is located in a nice little town perfect for tulip hunting. The hotel itself is very charming and has a lot of character to it. The owners also stay in the same building and are great hosts. The breakfast spread was excellent and the hosts took care of the arrangements personally.
Like going back to the 1970’s
The rooms were clean and comfortable
However the rest of the hotel was something out of 1972
Parking was great
But the price was totally unrealistic
For €50 pet night I would have given this a good review
For €140 then sorry this was poor value for money
Very nice and clean hotel, with big rooms and comfy beds. The rooms are like the pictures, nicely furnished and designed. The personnel was very service minded and the breakfast was the best. Each guest was asked specifically what they preferred for breakfast and got personal service.
we booked the room with sea view, I would definitely recommend it!! we woke up around 5am and saw the amazing subrise through our room!!! The restaurant is also nice. The location is perfect for us because we were planning to go to Texel and the hotel is just next to the ferry port.
The staff of the hotel was very friendly, attentive and helpful. The room was nice and big with a view over the main square. The breakfast was tasty with enough options to cover all tastes. The location is very central, near the train station and the ferry terminal.
The staff at The Den Helder were very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was OK, it was reasonably limited options but the fresh bread-rolls were nice and the cheese was good. Dinner options were quite varied with lots of home-cooked options.
absolute darling little 2-story apartment in Den Helder. beautiful marine decor makes this a cozy apartment. the stairs are very narrow and the apartment starts on the first story and the 2d bedroom is on the spacious attic (2 twin beds).
The hotel has an excellent staff, which also provided calm help fort a problem arisen less than an hour before leaving, helped us organise our trip to Texel, our visit of the maritime museum and was very good in handling the breakfast.
Nice hotel that is in two refurbished houses. Shopping just around the corner and the ferry to Texel on walking distance. Nice restaurants just across the street. Almost no traffic after 20:00
