Very spacious and comfortable room with lovely outlook. Fabulous choice at breakfast and very helpful staff at reception. Great easy location to find and free parking. Lovely little landscaped park directly accessed from hotel so I could easily walk my dog in the morning in a lovely location. Inside the public spaces and rstaurant the decor was very nice too.

Parking was convenient, but paid 10 Euro per night. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was great. Breakfast selection was limited, but tasty. The staff offered good tea and coffee. The room was converted from 2 former prison cells, so the expectations were not high. But as an experiment it was interesting. For one night stay this hotel fits nicely.

What a stunning and interesting town to visit and we already want to go back. So much history and the most beautiful buildings. Lots of great restaurants and all the shops you could need. Easy to charge our car and the nearby parking in a parking garage was cheap. The steak we had for dinner at Heavens Hotel was the best I had in a long time.
Hoorn has lots of green space and you can do lots on foot. Easy walk to the marina, a large park and a huge swimming area on the Hoornse Hop close to town that seems to be newly created and will start opening slowly bit by bit from July. I participated in a big event and on the cycling leg I saw a lot of the beautiful surrounding area, so we will return for a more leisurely visit in the near future.

Hoorn is a small village about 30 minutes northwest of Amsterdam. Our accommodations were located in a boat, just outside of Hoorn. A nature trail near our boat took us into town via a forested area with a good path for walkers and bikers. On Saturday morning, Hoorn has a small market, many backeries and a few cafes were open. Many cyclist going through town.

Hoorn is a charming town with a rich history and lots of old Dutch architecture and canals. There is a small boat marina, main historic square, pedestrian shopping streets, lots of lovely cafes, bars and restaurants. Its a great base for visiting Old Holland and also a good alternative to staying in Amsterdam, which is only 30 min away by train. The bus station is in front of the train station and easy to use to visit Edam, Volendam etc. Its also easy to reach Alkmaar and Zaanse Schans from Hoorn via train. From Schiphol airport is less than an hour by direct train.

What an amazing town just a short train ride from Amsterdam. Beautiful streets to walk around and harbour front. The food was amazing and learnt there is a Dutch equivalent to Spanish Tapas. As always friendly and very helpful people to show you around. First time in Hoorn, but not the last.

Lovely old town with great center, unknown to me previously, but I will return. Has an old-world charm with modern amenities, and great architecture in centre; it is fabulously landscaped around the coast and canals to great effect. Plenty eating out and drinking choices, shopping to be had.
One of the finest hotels we have ever stayed in. Incredible amount of $$ spent to beautifully renovate a church. Unique in so many ways. Must see it to believe it. Cherish at the front desk went out of her way to help us with a serious issue with the river cruise company. She made several calls and saved us from real problems. Rooms were perfect. It is impossible for me to rate everything higher. It was incredible!!!!!
We received a warm welcome and had an excellent stay at El Puerto. Ria, the owner, is a very dedicated and friendly host. The room was spacious and clean and at walking distance from the sea and the city. The breakfast was very varied and generous. There was a water cooker and coffee maker in the room as well as a supply of tea and coffee. The view was nice on the port of Hoorn. We highly recommend El Puerto!
A quirky hotel in a fab location, within a beautiful old town. The staff couldn’t be happier to help. The breakfast and indeed the restaurant was lovely.
The room we had had a quirky layout and brilliant view over the adjacent tourist canal boat dock.
We arrived on the 3rd Saturday of July, to find that there was a brilliantly entertaining wine festival in a nearby park, which was free to enter.
Location. Close to Hoorn train and bus station and main shopping area. Restaurants are close by. Sights to see are all within walking distance.
Arie always gave great customer service.
Place came with a big garden.
The charm and character of a converted old church would transport you to another time but with a modern twist.
Very silent (sound proof) room. Clean and spacious. Perfect with an animal too. Enjoyed the stay very much. Easy parking with lot of space. Access to Hoorn is within a few minutes drive. Good location overall. Staff very welcoming. Nice large garden behind the hotel, perfect to get fresh air with dogs.
We could watch boats coming in and loading up after a day on the zuiderzee. There was a decent restaurant very close by. Used the washer and dryer. I could’ve used some directions on that though. Shower was very good.
This is a lovely small hotel. Our room was very attractive and comfortable. The staff were very helpful. I liked the honesty bar. The restaurant's food was exceptionally tasty and had lots of veggie choices.
Room was large and very well appointed. The spa bath was big enough for two. Staff were very hospitable. The restaurant for tea was excellent. Breakfast was basic continental breakfast.
Wonderful music when I arrived at the hotel ..the owner is truly a gifted musician ..she can sing plus play piano and many other instruments ! Very nice surprise when I arrived !
