What a pretty city in the eastern region of The Netherlands!
What a pretty city in the eastern region of The Netherlands! My husband and I explored the city on foot for three days and discovered lovely shops, wonderful coffeeshops (check out Fixed Gear if you are a cyclist), and interesting restaurants. Every meal we had in the town was delicious, and the locals were unfailingly accommodating.

It has a very bright and cozy Christmas atmosphere.
It has a very bright and cozy Christmas atmosphere. Beautiful historical areas. There are many parks and green areas to walk through. A lot of hidden gems on the outskirts of the city - definitely worth hopping on the bus from one end to the other and discovering what lies outside of the city center. Must try the breakfast menu from Coffeelovers Plein 1992.

A grand historic location not overrun by tourists.
A grand historic location not overrun by tourists. Loved not having seen huge tour busses and gobs of people following your standardised tour guidess. One doesn't have to walk far to 'get lost' in quite narrow allayes without any tourists. I was actually surprised how peaceful the town was and we did visit it on a weekend. Hance the lack of tourists, maybe that is why it was so clean? The city also offers a pleasant shopping experience. The stores are nicely spread out in numerous streets, so that you can combine a historic tour with the occasional peek in a strore. Loved the city and would gladly return.

Maastricht is a hidden treasure and should be on everyones list to visit. The tours of the underground tunnels, the history of the town itself are all fascinating. The architecture is soooooo old and captivating, everywhere you look is history. You can walk anywhere around this beautiful little town and be awed by its beauty. The restaurants we tried were terrific and the staff full of characters and openly friendly people. I loved it. I will be coming back one day.
The B&B Au Lion D' or is located in the centre of Maastricht. There is no need for a taxi or a bus , because of a walking
distance to the B & B from the train station. We were impressed by the character of the hotel and our room. The room was different from the one we booked , but that was no problem. The room was spacious with a nice view , with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was tasty with a good coffee. The owners were nice and friendly.
Room was large with comfortable beds and Ritual products in the bathroom. The hotel is situated outside of the center, but walking distance with a a lot of parking available. Among the few dog friendly hotels in Maastricht, there is also a convenient dog area, as well as nice walking/running paths nearby. The hotel has a pool (although we didn’t have time to use it).
This hostel was really exceptional. I just needed a place to stay for two nights while being in Maastricht for work. So a bed is all I asked for, but while that was delivered, the offered breakfast, internet and the common place was great. The breakfast was also not your typical hotel/hostel breakfast. On the contrary, I would love to know their paprika pesto recipe.
Located close to the city centre. We could find an underground parking spot within 100 meters. We wanted to see the historic monuments and also sample the local delicacies and we could do all of these by walk.
The local Christmas market was open in the evenings and the proximity to the hotel was very convenient.
The location of this hotel is really superb - you're practically in the city centre! The size of the room was just right for one night (if we would stay longer, I would have booked a bigger room) and the design of the room and hotel is just superb. Loved the bed, super comfortable!
The apartment is located in a beautiful and central area, super close to the station and a short walk to the city centre. It is well equipped with everything you might need and very comfortable. Would definitely recommend :)
Fantastic place for spending a few nights in Maastricht. The hotel is located in the city center and is on walking distance to the city highlights. Super friendly personnel, excellent breakfast and parking across the street.
The hotel was very well located in the centre of Maastricht. The room was clean, the shower was good and beds comfortable. We visited Maastricht for the weekend and the hotel and room were excellent for this length of stay.
a lovely hotel in the centre of Maastricht convenient for seeing the whole city. also not far away from the Vrytoff to see Andre Rieu concert. Breakfast was served in the basement which had Roman ruins.
Domien and his wife were very welcoming and helpful.
The apartment is about a 10 min walk to Maastricht city centre. If you are going to a concert at the MECC, there’s a direct bus which takes 10 mins.
This hotel is a relatively nice option when travelling to Maastricht. The staff are super friendly and helpful, breakfast buffet has been improved since a few years ago, everywhere is clean and nice!
Nice hotel in the city centre. Car was able to park outsite. I was always able to find the spot. Also like the hotel. Nothing special. But price meets the quality. Recommend.
