Breakfast was good, pretty standard fare overall but good. My room was very satisfactory and clean.. Location was excellent. The bartender was excellent and a very personable host this was a pleasant surprise. The person he was training was brand new and when trying to explain giving her a tip there was again a communication gap. She was good and attentive just not quite attuned to the custom of giving tips for her good service.

I liked the views, quietness, fresh air, variety of restaurants, nice spacious metered parking at the city center (pretty cheap compared to Boston), opportunities to walk around the city. Lake Placid is a nice hub for those wishing to go hiking Adirondack mountains and forests but not wanting to live in a campsite.

I really liked the town.
I really liked the town. It's cozy, with old buildings and without skyscrapers. Beautiful hiking options. Nice museum. Many coffee places and dinning options. A little bit overpriced but still OK for a vacation. Definitely it's better to have a kitchen at you stay options to save some money on a food.

I went Sunday to Thursday in mid December, but it seems like "season" doesn't start in Lake Placid until Christmas day. A lot of attractions and restaurants are closed on Tuesday and Wednesday and it was raining the only day the speed skating oval was open for me, so I had bad luck and would plan better next time. I didn't get to do bobsled experience and other things from the legacy site and was even turned away from the Gondola at whiteface as a sight seer. So just make sure the things you want to do will be open when you go.

Lake Placid is an absolutely beautiful little town.
Lake Placid is an absolutely beautiful little town. Everything is within walking distance and there is so much to see and do. It’s pricey but there are so many beautiful little shops and places to eat. Walk the lake or climb a mountain, you’ll keep busy for days.

The hotel was great, very clean, beds comfy, great breakfasts! Staff was friendly and personable. Nice keurig coffee machine in room, so you can bring your own k cups if you want. They only have Green Mountain brand. They also have decaf. Location was the best! Not very far from anything! Loved the top of Whiteface Mountain, can access by elevator or hiking. Was a continuous fragrance of pine, reminded me of Christmas. While at the ski jumps we had a chance to see some of the 6-14 year olds practice. That was great! We had a very good meal at Black Bear Restaurant! Getting around town is very easy. All in all a great place to stay for a few days.
Great value.
Helpful and friendly staff
Location is very convenient to Main Street (without the jump in cost!)
Parking is easy -- not true of many hotels in Lake Placid
Mini-fridge and (working) microwave -- again, not available in all hotels in LP
Firepit, bar-b-cue and picnic tables available for guests -- again, not available at all hotels in LP
I will book at the Maple Leaf Inn for Rugby weekend next year
The view was exceptional - we upgraded to the lake view so we could enjoy it. Hotel is on Mirror Lake in the town of Lake Placid. Mirror Lake is reserved for non-motor boats, so it is very peaceful.
The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the bathroom was clean.
The dining room is exception with very high wood ceiling and beams - very impressive.
It is a cute lodge kind of hotel located on the lake. They have boats on their site that we could use whenever we wanted to. It is located at walking distances from the market. The market has small stores, restaurants, a movie theater and coffee shops by the lake.
So all in all, we had a nice getaway at this place.
Location very good - walking distance to downtown Lake Placid. There is a small picnic area with tables and a gas grill which the owner told us we could use. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Very convenient to be able to park the car right in front of the door of our room.
This was our second time here. The room and hotel in general were very clean. Great location with easy walking access to downtown Lake Placid. We used the pool which was really nice and the breakfast was delicious in cozy atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
Very spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. Plenty of good quality furnishings, towels and toiletries. Good kitchen. Supermarket nearby and wine merchant across the road. Short drive to town centre, where the main hotel reception is.
Clean. Comfortable. On Main Street in Lake Placid overlooking Mirror Lake. Friendly staff. Generous parking under hotel. Just down the street from Olympic Center. Attached restaurant had delicious, reasonably priced breakfast.
We love staying at Lake Placid Inn Main Street. It’s clean and spacious. The rain shower in the bathroom is great too. We have stayed here twice and will book again next year.
Nice large rooms - a main living room area with a bed and a private bedroom. The location is really great - walking distance to many shops and restaurants in Lake Placid.
The outdoor patio and gas fireplace was the best part of our stay! Rooms are good size, clean, all-new hotel. Staff was very friendly/helpful & accommodating.
The BlueBird Hotel in Lake Placid, NY, offers an unbeatable location. From my room, I was able to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views, truly a sight to behold.
