It said complete breakfast which to me means hot foods, eggs, sausage or bacon, potatoes, etc. It was a minimal continental breakfast at best. The tulip suite where we stayed the first night had filthy, stained carpet, peeling wall paper, a non-working fireplace and was very small. I complained, and was moved to the miss elly suite was was much better. We actually checked out early and had breakfast at a nearby restaurant.

Auld Holland Inn was charming on the outside, and after complaining about the crappy tulip suite they put us in the first night being moved next door to the miss ellie suite was better. I wanted to move to the windmill suite, but was told it was booked. However, we saw no one go in or out, and heard no one in it.The price was too high for the accommodations. Continental breakfast was average. When I asked to switch rooms, explaining that I paid for a working fireplace and that the carpet was filthy, the manager replied "They're both king beds". Oak Harbour is an excellent base for exploring local parks...
Oak Harbour is an excellent base for exploring local parks such as Fort Eby and Deception Pass, to name two of the many spectacular places nearby. Also, the ferry to Port Townsend is a few miles away and one can take a day trip, leaving the car behind in Coupeville, and wander Port Townsend’s architecturally interesting downtown and waterfront without having to wait in line with a car. Foot passengers just walk on! No reservations required. This area is definitely worth a few days of exploring. The town itself has a wonderful park on the waterfront, and for those with small kiddos, the park sports a world class playground and sprinkler park. Because it’s the “big town” in the area, it has lots of amenities as well as the usual cutesy tourist places. There are choices of places to eat and just about any kind of service you need available.

There are no stunning mountains or grand canyons but Whidbey Island is a very nice and friendly place. I look forward to my visits and there are nice parks, beaches for every sun direction, impressive long views and the same bad food as every American town.

It’s changed since I lived there many years ago. It’s lost it’s small town appeal. Chain stores have run all the mom and pop businesses out. It’s just another plaza/mall town set in a used -to-be-nice location

So many things to do.
So many things to do. Drive inn movie theater with go carts and arcade, plus they have a beer garden for adults! Oh, I forgot to say you can bring your dog as well. There are multiple state parks, which are a great way to spend a day. Plenty of restaurants and grocery stores available. There is a good and responsive Doordash community. We really enjoyed the PNW Naval Air Museum. You can try a modern flight simulator and crawl into a ww2 gunner turret. The highlight for me was seeing the PBY Catalina fully restored. Such an amazing flying boat. 😍 Overall a fantastic way to spend a vacation.AAnonymous - 10Scored 10

It was perfect for a place to stay and visit the area. Only down side is its in the middle of the city so no nature, but there is nothing stopping you from visiting all the trails and hikes in the area since they are so close.Rivas

The space was generous. The pool only has a ladder to get in and out so not very practical for small kids, older folks or people with disabilities. But the water was lovely and the hot tubs enjoyable. The breakfast was just simple continental fare but started the day off well. The price seems high. The site was super dog friendly and the kids really enjoyed the movie rentals they have! Beds were super comfy, I had to work one of the days I was there. The accommodations for that were great too! I would definitely go back to this place again if ever in Oak Harbor.
