Windsor Cottage was very clean, comfortable and peaceful. A surprising find in Barberton! with secure off street parking, good outside garden lighting and tight security, which was reassuring to out of towners! The beds and pillows were exceptionally comfortable, and all the linen was crisp and clean. Water pressure was very good and the water remained piping hot after three showers. It was a bonus to have the entire house to ourselves.

Location was excellent. Outside braai area is also very nice particularly when you have it for yourself. Wouldn't necessarily enjoy it when there's 6 other guests.

Located 8.7 mi north of Barberton on the R38 Kaapmuiden road, within the Barberton Mountainlands nature reserve. Ideal for birding depending on season. Out of town and no suburban noise.

The town is suffering the decay common to most rural towns in South Africa.
The town offers many attractions and tours for the traveler.
Of particular interest is the Heritage tour of the museums and old buildings.

I was playing a Bowls Competition over the weekend and stayed over one night. Wouldn't recommend Barberton other than for a sporting event, hiking, golf or maybe visiting relatives or friends. No decent restaurants although there are maybe better options 20 minutes drive from town.
Spectacular views of surrounding mountains.

Unfortunately we saw nothing except our accommodation as the roads are in such a bad state one does not dare to drive around. Really expected more from this town. Until the roads are repaired I would not recommend anyone visiting this town.

Small town.
Small town. Not much to do… we lived in Barberton for 2 years and do not see it as a place where i would book a holiday but good enough to stay over for a night or so. No favourite places. We had lunch at The Very old Jock pub because we did not know where else to go.

Barberton is going backwards, over run by foreign nationals dominating every roadway and store frontage - there is nothing quaint and historical left and it looks like the town is not well maintained.
