The room was very clean and spacious, and the bed was very comfortable, and the room had a lovely balcony. I had supper there one evening at Pomodoro's and it was excellent food.

There is nothing negative to say about our stay in Wilderness, other than I wish it could have been for longer! Our accomadation at Tranquil Shores, was simply perfect. Our host was so gracious and generous with advise for local activities and attractions. The room we stayed in was lovely and very tastefully decorated.
Honestly this was such a lovely place to spend some time in.

The beaches and views from the top of Hoekwil or Map of Africa are too beautiful. The nature walks and general magical feeling of the place makes it an ideal holiday destination. It is close to the large town of George and Knysna with markets available on Saturdays,
You would need a car to get around Wilderness.

We stayed three nights in Wilderness and that was probably the perfect length of stay. It's a small town, but a very beautiful location. The long beach is nice, if you like that sort of thing. However, exploring the lagoon on an 'eco-cruise' is a 'must' and probably the most enjoyable adventure on our three-week stay in South Africa. Wilderness is also blessed with some good restaurants, 'The Girls On The Square' deserves an accolade, but 'Serendipity' is in a league of its own - one of the best restaurants I've visited anywhere in the world.

This is an amazingly clean and beautiful property.
This is an amazingly clean and beautiful property. It has a lovely pool with sunbeds and seating area to rear of property and the front of the property overlooks the most stunning beach. Little extras in the room make it absolutely fabulous. The hosts are extremely welcoming and friendly as is the family dog Duke. Would highly recommend.
James's place is situated perfectly on the beach, with stunning views along the coast of Wilderness where you can spot dolphins frolicking. The hotel is one of the most considered places we've ever stayed, every little touch or requirement you can think of has already been catered to; the complimentary room fridge, fabulous breakfast and rather saucy in-room shower being a few of our favourites!
Would absolutely recommend booking Dune Villa & plan to return in the coming years.
This is a wonderful place to stay. Centrally located in the Wilderness. The sea views from all rooms and whhen sitting at breakfast are perfect. We highly recommend the Dolphin Room for couples wanting to destress and enjoy amazing sea views. Dolphins also regularly swim past in the sea below and are easily spotted from the view in the room. The manager and staff at the lodge treat you as if you are family and are very helpful.
What a great hostel.. location is awesome.. Relaxing environment where I fell asleep with the sound of waves crashing on the beach..
Staff, accommodation, the bar, the wood oven pizza and live music
I really enjoy it all..
Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful and friendly hostel.
I stayed 3 lovely nights.
The proximity to the beach was gorgeous - both a beautiful vista with sound of waves and access to the water via a path through the greenery. I really liked this charming hotel with nice gardens. I was leaving early the next morning and the host made sure I had a breakfast packed the night before.
Location directly on the beach and also use of the gardens for sunbathing. Very large room. Breakfast room had great views and breakfast was very good. Hotel also had other sitting areas which could be used by guests. Very efficient laundry service.
The property certainly lives up to its name, located at a vantage point overlooking a river bed, extremely scenic and tranquil.
Rooms are comfortable and very value for the price, Would totally recommend the place for a stay in Wilderness.
Centrally located in the beautiful Wilderness village. Perfect location and friendly staff. I liked the idea of staying in a hotel that has been there for so long. Everything was clean and the breakfast was good.
Exceptional stay that included an extensive and delicious breakfast and amazing view of the ocean. Direct access to the beach was an added value! Couldn’t think of a better place to stay along the Garden Route!
This is truly outstanding accommodation. I have stayed in hotels in over fifty countries and Hamilton House is world class and rivals some of the best accommodation in the world! It was a joy to stay here.
Wonderful breakfast and probably one of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Everything was clean, top quality and the location on the beach could not have been any better. I can’t wait to come back!
Incredible location and amazing views from rooms and public areas. Staff had amazing attitudes and were helpful at all times
Easy to travel to other cities in the Garden Route from hotel too
The view, the welcome, the breakfast, the bed. Very relaxing to hear the waves just outside the door. Would have stayed longer but we were travelling through the garden route.
Gorgeous spot to start you kanu tour right off the hotel property. They are 100 years old soon, which is amazing, and are renovating a lot currently. Really nice compound.
The view from the room was spectacular! Perfect location to explore Wilderness. The family who run the property gave great tips on local restaurants and activities.
Loved the fact that the hotel has everything you might need. The beach is at your doorstep. Airport also close by. Staff was very helpful and attentive.
